If you're constantly getting flashed when your low beams are on, then maybe they aren't aligned properly. Obviously they are brighter to oncoming drivers than all the other cars on the road. Instead of being a dick and laughing about blinding them further, why not ADJUST YOUR FUCKING HEADLIGHTS???!!!

Fucking dicks. :mad2:

They're adjusted properly from the factory so why mess with them? Not my fault people are used to HIDs.

You realize there are Federal regulations governing headlight output and diffusion pattern, right?

There may be but that doesn't mean your lights have to surpass that to get flashed by oncoming drivers. Regular halogen low beams mess with my eyes at night but I don't bitch about it or flash oncoming drivers.

I believe he said meant "wisdom".

I can see where skwerl is coming from. if you get flashed every time your out, then something is off and your lights should be adjusted. If after you adjust your lights you find that things are coming at you too fast to see... slow down. Most people are fine when driving with lights that are aimed properly and having them aimed incorrectly can really screw with oncoming traffic. You would be surprised how much a slight adjustment can help oncoming drivers without hindering your ability to see. a 1 inch adjustment at 5 feet might be several feet of adjustment at 100 feet.

EDIT: Also, if you lower your car more in the rear its going to bring the overall angle up so your lights should be re-adjusted to compensate. It's also possible for lights to shift and become out of adjustment over time.

You are absolutely wrong there, bud. It's your car and your responsibility to properly adjust the headlights, just as it is your responsibility to maintain all the other safety features on the car. And headlights come improperly adjusted from the factory all the time. Those people flashing their headlights at you aren't flashing every single driver on the road, just you. So your headlights must be quite a bit brighter than 'normal'. If one random person flashes you once a year then sure, it's their problem. But if you're regularly getting flashed then you are the problem.

Right but auto manufacturers put the lights where they are for a reason optimal vision for the driver with the least effects to oncoming traffic.

So you're saying the headlights don't follow federal guidelines from the factory like everything else on a vehicle... Right. I do maintain my headlights by keeping them clean. It's every couple days some random person flashes me, and it's usually someone in a car with really dim headlights...

Yes, 2013 HIDs are more bright than an average vehicle headlight but they still comply with regulations. Otherwise they wouldn't be on the car. So it comes down to people being over sensitive.

wow......

take some personal responsibilty for yourself. if people are flashing you on a regular basis....then you should fix your lights. im sure its not fun when someone flashes you so why would you not want to fix the problem?

it takes about 5 minutes to adjust the headlights.

if your using your low beams and getting flashed, then your lights are pointing up too far.....period.

so your argument is that if pedro or jimmy at the ford dealership/factory said it was good.....then its good?

have you checked your oil level or air pressure since getting it from the factory?

Because it would be completely impossible that somthing could be off spec from the factory!

Its not too hard to do a quick check on your alignment

I used to get people flashing their brights at me when i was using my factory fogs.
i even had my dad drive the car the opposite direction from me and they were still pretty bright

so i tinted them orange, i still get nearly the same distance out of them, but now nobody bothers me, and i find that they are better in actual fog.

The cut-off for your headlights should be roughly 2-4 inches lower from 0 feet to 25 feet. Easy test is to find a wall, drive as close to it as possible, mark where the cutoff is, drive back roughly 25 feet. If its higher then adjust it to at least even with the mark.

so you dont care that you are blinding people who are driving a 3000-4000lb missle directly at you doing 40-60MPH.......just becuase your dont want to spend 5 minutes to re-aim your headlights.......yeah, i can totally see the logic in that!

LOL:beer:
