Never did care much for the foglights in the GT grille so I ordered a GT-H style grille to go there. Not afraid to do some cutting on the old one to get it to fit either so I went with this one.

The grille itself looks great but it came with no instructions what so ever. After spending about an hour with the dremel cutting and smoothing the old housings for the fogs and the black outline of the pony It was time to test fit it all together and see how it was going to attach. In the end it came down to zip ties because the posts go right through the bits that had to be cut off to get the grille flush. I will have to figure out how to make some kind of backing for the posts to permanently attach it.

Here's the pics, click for jumbo size, I know the car is filthy. :(

Getting the grille seated flush.

Dremel Carnage.

Mounting post and zip tie quick fix.

Set back in place.

Looks good. Do they still sell that grill with the outer housing though?

I remember tossing around this one with the Bullitt one. This one still looks amazing though:thumb:

Would the fogs still mount in there? (if you could work around the posts going through their hole)

Do yourself a favor and by the housing. Sell your stocker for the price it cost you to buy the housing. Problem solved. Oh wait. SRY :(

First run ever at the track, wasn't worrying about the reaction time... also ran pitiful times but was working my way in to it. Going next Friday, hopefully can get a respectable timeslip :beerchug2:

Does the shell inset the grill a bit more than just the overlay?

If the fogs will still mount, I am considering leaving the fogs, installing the grill over it, trim the fog rings, and cut out the honeycomb between the fogs so it is not visible.

Part of why I was looking for details.. http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29860

Got it worked out this afternoon.

No the fogs will not install with the overlay, but thats fine since I didnt like them anyway. Stopped at tractor supply and picked up a bit of steel blank about 1/2 wide by 24 long and cut and drilled some pieces to make it stay put for another 4$. Need to trim a little off the driver side foglight bezel to get that side tucked in better.

Looks great now that the car is clean.

If you dont have a dremel or are afraid to chop up the stocker, buy the housing. Otherwise a trip to tractor supply and some time will save you $100. Either way the look is worth the effort, and now that its on I am happy. :)

Trying to decide if I want the lower or not lol.
