you guys dont think a well built 5r55 will handle this setup. I dont plan on doing anything more than a tune and exhaust at least for a year or two, till momma forgets about all the money I am spending this go around.

That's what we all said, lol. I originally planned to just build a single turbo setup and use the stock shortblock and keep the stock manual trans and just drive it on the street for fun. Now I have a built block, turbo, TH400, chromoly driveshaft, and I will soon be building the rear end. Then I will be adding an anti-roll bar and 6 point roll-bar, lol. I guess it is just hard to stop once you start going.

Regarding the trans, I'll agree with others that the 5r55 is not the best choice. I would just do it right the first time and go with a 4r70w if you do a good amount of street driving, or TH400 if you plan on a mostly track car. Of course this is my opnion.

Ok I guess you guys have talked me into a 4r70 swap. Do I need a new cross member? I am going with manual valve body, so I wont need a computer. Is it difficult to make my factory speedo work? I guess obviously I will need a driveshaft. I have tried searching but most swaps are from manual to auto.

Well engine is on its way, trans should be coming later today, and longtubes are on a UPS truck somewhere. Should be coming together soon.

Does anyone know if a flexplate from a 4.6 with an 8 bolt cobra crank work on the 5.4. Also will my engine mount stands that bolt to the block work from my 3v on the 5.4?

Sure LOL Actually they were only 594.00 shipped. They are the obx headers. I was skeptical but thought I would take a chance, and was very surprised when they showed up. They look very nice, all of the welds are very good. I will say they look alot better than my pace setter headers that I had on my f-body. Anyone have an Idea what this car will dyno thru my 4r70w with the longtubes and tune.

Will mine just dyno'd again. And it is lower this time around but also conservative at power house was 490 and at intune it 440 he said
