373 or 410. My gearing is so tall right now i hit 130mph in third so i don't even get into 4th gear at the track.

I am thinking about going back to 3.73's myself, or upping the stall on the converter. I went to the 3.27 because lots of people said it would load the turbos better. Well it does load them better but I can't get it going to start. My 60's are in the 1.90-2.10 range and it doesn't' really spool and start pulling until about 50 feet out. When I initially changed I ran, on 10# boost setting, 11.78 on the 3.27's. That's the same I ran on the 3.73's, just had a slower 60 with the 3.27's. At the higher HP and boost levels I am running now I think it would be a lot faster with the 3.73's.

I think 4.10 may be a little much for a turbo setup, the 3.73's should be a better option, even with your manual trans.

In general automatics get away with steeper gears any way for that reason. Best bet for a turbo auto is a trans brake really. You can leave under boost at the rpm you want regardless of gear. And you got to look at street vs strip and what you want.

The 3.55s with the 3650 were great. If you compare those ratios to the 6060 with a 410 gear they are almost exactly the same. I of course would loose some load but I would make the gearing a bit more practical for driving. Right now its geared to go 300mph lol

I have the 2010+ 6060 with the taller overdrive ratios as well (.74 5th and .50 6th) so going steeper will make them more usable as well. It tends to drone at 1300-1400rpm going 80mph in 6th lol

Im thinking 390 might be a perfect gear would mimic 327's with the 3650 there about. Not sure. When I go in there that would be the time to do the gears so got to figure out what I want to do before then lol

To me and on the video it doesnt look or sound like your loading the converter at all or flashing the TC, but a slow roll out. Foot brake the hell out of it, make them spool, load the converter and go!! apples to oranges to our setups, but your car should have a letter better 60' even with that gear. JMO.

I know it doesn't look like it but I am loaded up as far as it will go. On some of the runs it will just push through the brakes. I can only foot brake it to about 2200 rpm and the it starts pushing. That's why I was talking about making the converter looser. It's supposed to be a 3200 stall but it only flashes to about 2500.

Update!!
Well the insurance is coming through on the fire damage. They are going to cover the fire damage itself, nothing mechanical of coarse. Mike will start tearing it apart Monday, he will be at MIR all weekend. I will finally be able to see what all is damaged and get a handle on what it will cost me for repairs.

great news Brady and Earl. Things are moving direction for everyone. Brady, does the new trans feel better. pros cons??

So far I love it. Still figuring it all out since I changed so many things at once with the clutch, flywheel, transmission, and driveshaft, but overall it is a great improvement. Shifts much better, less NVH, first gear engagement is stupid smooth, and overall the car “feels” lighter, like it is not working as hard. I like the gear ratios, with the tall 2.66 first and the double overdrive. 5th gear is actually more useable now, since it is a tad lower than the 3650 5th gear. 6th drops the revs down nothing, but not really usable under 60 mph unless the road is flat. Clutch pedal feels super light, almost no effort. Cons, I guess the Tremec shifter centering springs are a tad stiff, but finding 3 or 4 is really easy, it snaps to center. Reverse is hard to get into, but I didn’t wire up the reverse lock out or mod the pressure spring.

But so far, so good. I was getting 31.5 mpg at 65 mph/1400rpm on the way to work this morning, which I know is impossible, and who cares about gas mileage on a blown car. But, when you’re in bumper to bumper traffic with nothing else to do but go with the flow…

Sold the drive shaft from the T56 swap to a young man named Andrew with an 06 in VA Beach. He's got a used Whipple kit going on this winter.

Ray, he may be contacting you for some expertise!

Earl, how is your car coming?

Well it hasn't been very good news. The spring on the phaser is what came loose, it's funny the reluctor is still attached just the spring is gone. I really think this is due the the Comp limiters design. When it came apart it got under the chain and that side jumped time. That head needs all new parts, valves, guides, followers and such. The springs are still good and Lloyd thinks he can polish out the cam so I may not have to buy a new one. The block was already at the edge tolerance for standard pistons so it is getting bored .020 and new pistons. Lloyd said no metal went through the engine so the oil pump is good.

Lots more damage then I was hoping for but it is what it is. I'll get it back together and it will be even better. I am going to the Livernois limiters this time and I am going back to stock compression with the new pistons. I am tired of the doggy response, during normal operation, with the lower compression that I was running. I am also getting a new Circle D converter with higher stall, will be selling the PI if you know anyone looking. With the new converter and higher compression I should finally be able to get this pig out of the hole.

How are you liking the new trans setup, now that you have some miles on the combination?

Glad that they found the problem and have a plan for getting it all back together better than before!

Trans is great, so smooth, great shifting, best mod to the car since the KB.
