While they do offer a billet wheel I would imagine this kit will be like there last kit and incorporate the standard journal bearing cast wheel turbos as standard.

Thats what I was thinking. When I had my hellion on my 06 the billet was a option that had to be an upgrade.

it runs under the suspension.. I could never have that here. the bumps, holes dips , would tear that off so fast...

Big turn off for me as well.
Watch for my custom twin aerocharger turbo build in a couple of months with them mounted in stock cat location. Variable Vane Geometry FTW !!!!

Fastlane here in Houston put down similar numbers with their $9,000 single T-76 kit as well. Dont really like how they shoe horned the turbo into the stock air box location on that one either.

These new 5.0's just have hell-a tight engine bays.

Who said this is.cheap?...

The hellion kit is pretty much the same as the supercharger....

$5995.00 for this kit. Not exactly what I would call cheap. It sucks we have to pay the 5.0 tax. This pricing is just as bad as Corvette stuff.

When you consider the power levels this kit is capable of, I think it's one hell of a good deal. Reaching 600+HP with a super charger is considerably more expensive and heavier.

People just get spoiled when they see $1,500 hotside kits for older models. Thats going to be tough to do on these 5.0's due to lack of room in these engine bays. Tubular k-member would probably help tons, but I dont think one is out for the 2011's yet.

Good god!.....Love those torque numbers.....

John, do you guys have any issues with oil return with the turbos due to their mounting position?

Ideally twin BB billet wheel turbos would be perfect, its just a matter of finding room for them. I know where there is room but some don't like mounting them that way.

These numbers and pictures were from Hellion directly guys. John Urist and I were talking about it and these are the numbers produced.

We'll have our install here shortly. I'll let you all know about fitment and routing then.

Deal killer for me on s/c's is the load the pulley system puts on the crank snout. Granted these new 6 bolt main blocks hold on to the crank good, but the stresses put on the crank from an s/c are substantial.

Turbo = more power more torque and less stress on engine - win win win ....... they just cost more and take twice the effort to install.

Turbo's make more power per lb of boost than any other power adder. The hard part is installation and tune.

There will always be people that want to stick with the superchargers, its resally just personal preference.
I am very willing to wait for turbo setups to get well sorted out, I have experience with turbos, and Im in love with the way they drive, so its worth it to me to wait.
If I wanted to go fast ASAP I would probably just get the Vortec kit.

The cars only be out for a year, Im in no rush.
