I have read so many threads on here now about nitrous and im really close to getting a kit. I have never used nitrous and need help getting everything just right. I just have a few things im not sure about. I just saw in one of the thread a Brand X kit, i have never heard of them. Is it a good kit or would i be better off with the zex kit. Also i have read that you need a blow down tube and a window switch a tune and maybe plugs. I have a wideband A/F guage already to go in. I want to do this the right way so i dont have any problems. So what else would i need to run no more then a 100 shot. Im sure this has been asked many times but im looking to get some good imput so i can hopefull get everything i need this weekend.

the zex kit is a good starter kit. blow down tube for safety and a window switch and plugs are a must and depending on how much you plan on using it (track or street) i wouldnt go any bigger then a 100 shot and make sure you get a tune for it. thats all i can think of

I had the Wilsons Pro Flo kit. Very high quality and good track results.

Are you looking for a single nozzle or plate kit?

Brand X and Zex are kind of the lower end to me. Very small solenoids that arent going to last that long and don't like opening under pressure.

Like mentioned above, i have dealt with Harris Speed several times on f-bodies and i just recently purchased their plate kit and all out accessory kit. To me their wet plate kit is top of the line for our cars.

to compliment your kit you do want to get a few things. Colder plugs are a must, blowdown tube, window switch, A/F cutoff switch, purge kit, nitrous filter, switch panels are optional, but look great. You also want a bottle heater to maintain some what consistent bottle pressure.

I figured no matter what kit i get im going to get the plate also. Thats why i asked about the Brand X kit i havent heard of it. Ive seen a lot of people on here running zex. Do you have a link for the harris speed kit?

The Harris speed kit is amazing, Nitrous Pro-Flow makes great stuff, and honestly I have used the Zex kits and for a daily driver running a modest shot they have held up great for long periods of time. Most of the time we use Autolite Revolution HT0s for nitrous installs on S197s with great overall results. I do have a few people running around using Brisk plugs with equal results. With Nitrous Accessories are a must... Bottle heater, Pressure gauge, purge kit, blow-down tube, you can run a fuel pressure cutoff switch(have had some issues with those) I prefer running a wideband and if you see a change in A/F you remove your foot from the throttle. Also not a big fan of window switches, but a lot of people swear by them... I look at it this way if something doesn't seem right I once again remove my foot from the accelerator... LOL! Just my .02

you mean get the other nozzle kit and then buy the plate separately? I would just get the whole thing from them, far superior components. If you were to get the harris kit and compare it to zex or the brand x, you would get it. Like i said, i ran two of their kits on my fbody and ybody and they were great. Can't wait to get my new stuff in the mail.

This is everything i ordered from them, it covers just about everything you would need.

i use the brisk non-projected tips, work very well. I prefer a non-projected tip for nitrous use and they certainly fit the bill since autolite doesnt make one.

just curious why you dont like window switches? i never had an issue with mine. I have seen few people run into issues with the MSD box, but thats about it. Also, noting on your one comment about the A/F guage. The Microedge window switch controller i got from harris has a built in A/F shutdown switch that works with the wideband. I feel more comfort relying on that then how fast i can get off the gas.

Im about to pull the trigger on the Harris Speedworks plate kit. Im just trying to figure out what accessories I want since im going to spray on the street 95% of the time. the accessory kit from Harris Speedworks looks nice but i would still need a bottle opener and A/F gauge.

They make bottle openers, i only run at the track so i never needed one, but a friend had one it was realy simple to take off to get the bottle filled.

I would run a wideband like the innovate LM-2, this way you pick up lots of data logging ability. With the microedge you dont necessarily need the gauge. It'll shut the system off for you.

The Brand X solenoids come with a lifetime warranty and will open at 1100+psi.

A way to retard timing would be beneficial also
