The F-35 is a gold plated disaster. The cost per flight hour is going to eat the service budget alive.

The budget is already doing it's damage. There is a reason the AF accelerated transitioning to the J model, (guess who makes that one too?). The personnel piece is a giant nightmare. The numbers all look great on a PP presentation but the end product is a lot more expensive without an equal delivery on performance.

That is a very nice plane to have when in need. Used to call them in all the time doing my F.O. thing in the Army.
