Nearly a year after the install of my S/C I finally had the opportunity to bring the car to JDM for a custom tune.

Before putting it on the dyno I ported the S/C intake and installed a GT500 throttle body the same way Cali HP addict had done.

After the 2 dyno pulls Jim looked at the results and told me that the tune is perfect and no custom tuning was required saving me a few hundred $$$.

The second run was done with the coolant and oil temperatures at 201ºF

This is on a 3.2" pulley running 93 octane pump gas.

Very nice - GI Joe sent me a very pretty 3.2 pulley for my 8 rib kit a while ago - but I have been scared to put it on the stock motor - one build out at a time...

you go all that way & your still using mail order :naughty:. I bet you left at least 35 more RWHP by not getting a custom tune. The tune is only perfect if you datalog & look at the fuel trims and see if commanded is actual at every rpm point and there is no way to do via mail order.

It is very presumptive of you to assume that Jim didn't datalog the runs and check them out.

I highly doubt that those kinds of gains were attainable.

Before we began he asked me if I only wanted an A/F check or whatever was required.

I told him to do whatever needed to be done.

If he thought he could get any more out of it he could have charged me a few hundred dollars more for a full custom tune since I told him he had free reign.

He gave me a couple of recommendations such as closing down my spark gap to 0.030" instead of 0.032".

The bottom line is the car is putting down amazing numbers for a D/A of 1300' on stock internals with a safe A/F ratio.

That's going to be a little difficult since I went from 4.10's down to 3.55's

I'm also in the process of going from 17" ET Streets to 15" ET Street Radials if I can sell the practically new 26x10 15" ET Drags I got with the new rims.

My best runs were 11.427 @ 119.92 with 4.10's on the 3.4" pulley 1.61 60'

11.70 with 3.55's on the 3.4" pulley

LOL - my affection for Thump is the ONLY reason I said anything positive in a thread relating to work from Jim Dick'Amore...:samuri:

At least I'm fair, I have always kept to my guns that he is one of the best saleen tuners around. He is just a shithead person and shady businessman.

Sorry Peter, couldn't resist...

Oh, well, that seems reasonable enough - they do tune the crap out of the saleens... If all the bashing I have read about - them it never has anything to do with that....

Always seems to be the time vortex at the shop door - truck goes in - 6 months pass - truck not done...
