I make it to round 3 of elimnation and FREAKIN RED LIGHT against a car that I ended up taking by 2 car lengths. I had my car dialed in to 8.62 gave a dial in time of 8.6 and was running 8.615 - 8.625 all night long with a consistant .55 R/T . I guess I could see the $$$$$ and not the F'ing tree. What a bummer

Oh I wanted to mention also that I guess I have "launched my car enough to wear the supension so that I am starting to have some wheel chatter off the line. I know what wheel hop is and have had bad cases of it in past cars. THis is like I said more of a Chatter and not hopping. I really need to get my 60' times down, I am at 2.065 now. I am wonder if just LCA's will clear that up and when I go to DR's will that create more wheel hop issues. I have been having a good time just going out and banging heads with other cars. I was in my first "bracket" feature last night and I really got off on using technique more than just brute horsepower.....not that having a bunch of hp is bad.......lol. Fortunately I was familiar enough with bracket racing to know not to "burn" myself by just putting down a time that I knew I woldn't break out of. The first run was against a guy who had a much superior car to mine but killed himself by putting down a time that was like .4 than his car would ever run. I saw that happen to about half the group, they were more worried about "breaking out" than the extra time they were going to have to wait before they got the "green".

I still had the BEST TIME I have ever had at the drag strip. I really want to try that at a 1/4 mile strip.

smiled all the way home!!!!!!!!!

Sounds great man. Glad you had fun. It is an even better high when you get the purse :)

As far as the chatter goes, I had the same problem on my 235/45/17 street tires. I make sure there is at least 35 psi in the rear tires. I do a burn-out to heat the tires and spin the oils off.

Some people say that a burn-out for street tires is not needed, but I disagree. The track is rubberized, there is glue all over it, and making sure your tires tread is flat, clean, and hot regardless of if they are slicks or not really helps!

I am sitting on 5500 to 6000 RPMs, dumping the clutch and flooring it. My 60' is never more than 1.95 (if i srew up the clutch work), mostly 1.85 to 1.89, and I get ZERO spin off the line. If there is no spin, there is no chatter and no wheel hop. Plus, I am still running the stock 235/45/17's.

I found (right at the end of the day (afterturning in my dial in time) that if I heat them up really good I get zero tire spin. Along with this I am still braking and getting my r's up to about 2400 and get a good hard launch.

I have been conversing with several others about methods of getting my 60' time down, and it turns out that the higher my r's are the better my 60 times are and the better my ET. I actually hit 8.602 several times in a row,
and that was going to get me the $$$ if I had not of red lighted. I was running within two thousands of my break out time consistantly.

I can't believe how much mor fun it is when I have to MAKE MYSELF be consistantly repetitive. Normally that would be really boring until you strap 300 rwhp to your ass and have to launch the same way everytime.......lol

I am unemployeed at the time but as soon as I go back to work I will be adding LCA's, delete plates and underdrive pulley's, and some 16" rims with slicks or D/R's. THen I will be going racing........yeeeeeee haaaaaaaa!
