I think something is going wrong with the Stang..

Over the last few days when driving in town... I have noticed a lag or when I try and accelerate quickly it just acts like I am pulling a load behind it or something. ( reminds me of that commercial of the car pulling a anchor down the road) lol..
The exhaust has been rattling and I think it is getting louder. Honestly, it sounds like shit now, and I am not sure if I got a leak or my used Flowmasters are pooped out?
It's very raspy and annoyingly loud! Could it be the O/R H-pipe coming loose maybe?

I don't know, but I guess I will take it by the muffler shop to see if they can find anything.
If the exhaust is leaking, will that cause acceleration problems?

Yes an exhaust leak could contribute to performance issues depending on the location/severity of the leak. Get the leak fixed and report back.

Not yet.. I still need to do that also. I need to replace the front pads and rotors mainly.

It could be.. because it did not use to sound this way and I have had the Flows since I bought the car. The previous owner put them on, so no telling how long he had them on it or if they were even bought new.

The exhaust leak is not really the problem (lol) its called your knock sensors ...its picks up high frequency noise , therefore its picking up your exhaust noise and its pulling timing out of your motor ..aka feels like your pulling a boat .

yes also the exhaust leak needs to be fixed also as it will cause you to lose some performance but not what your describing.

If you have loose mufflers ,x or hipe pipe brackets or mounts that are banging around or vibrating that noise will be transmitted through your stock manifolds or headers into the heads and the sensors will pick it up as spark knock or detonation . [

I agree, we have seen it happen here in the shop. That and if you have after market cats, they can blow out.

Flowmasters are known for coming apart internally. I bet that's your problem.

Ok, part of my problem was the O/R H-pipe was coming unbolted on both sides toward the front. So there was a leak there he said.
My Flows are old rusted, dented up, and one is crooked.

Its time for some new mufflers of some type.. I think I am going to try another brand besides Flowmaster. :/

never been a fan of FM's, for this reason. Just always seemed like cheap junk welded up to make a buck.
