To bad am didnt show damage on axle. Im guessing rod end on lca broke first and allowed the axle to twist. No rod end junk for me

No telling what exactly happened.

I do know, the car had a full WL rear suspension on it. (UCA/Mount....LCA/Relos)

From what I understand, the axle tube welds broke and then damaged the lower control arms. I unfortunately didn't get to see this happen in person, nor look under the car though. This is just a story relayed to me from a few guys here at AM. The car as already been fixed, so I can't check it out for myself either.

I know this isn't much info, I do apologize. Wish I had more details!

Had that done while the axle was out of the car. Also had the brackets welded too, can never be too safe

Im sure its been posted, but would it be better to do 4 smaller welds compared to welding around the whole tube?

My guy did 4 welds/steps for each side so that the metal would not distort.

just curious why C clips would be considered dangerous on a car with rear disc brakes? the caliper and rotor will prevent the axle from coming out right?

You'd think so, but that's not always the case. Ever see a car bust the hat right out of the rotor ring, the wheel/tire exiting the car with the hat and axle end still bolted onto it? It happened to someone I know recently. When the car gets crossed up and puts severe lateral forces on these parts, bad shit happens sometimes.
