Was the tune to blame though? I thought you had said it wasn't due to the tune.

I was being nice and political and not trying to start a shit storm, nor did I know what the inside of the motor looked like at that time.

I think the best thing you can do to keep it safe is keep the stock 3.8 pulley and stock manifold on the car. Limit rpm to around 7,000 and with a solid tune/good fuel it will live. Start putting the boss manifold and headers on the car and spin it to 7,500 + rpm and you start making too much boost even with the stock pulley. Even the stock pulley and running it to only 7,000 rpm makes more power than stock tires will hold. If you decide to get more aggressive then start putting money aside for a shortblock.

I'm planning on going f/I and have been soaking up this thread. Curious if the above is true with a Boss roadrunner engine?

Where you have a better bottom end vs. a standard GT, your ceiling is about the same as a GT500 (meaning you have better pistons/rods, but your rods still aren't bullet proof). 775-825. I would keep it around 725 though. You will most likely hit the safe limitations of 93 octane before you stress the motor too much.

I'd look into a better fuel system and run E85 if larger power was something that you wanted. Cooler intake charge, and much higher detonation resistance.

I would certainly feel more comfortable spinning a Boss motor over 7500 rpm and/or going with a smaller pulley. I think the stock GT motor is best left on the stock pulley/rpm limit if you want it to live.

Obviously a bogus screen name from someone afraid to show their true name.

Modular Depot did very well while they were here in Cincinnati. I had several cars done by them and all performed great.

I don't know how you would call being bought out by a multi millionaire, and then recruited to one of the 2 top tuning companies in the country a failure.

As far as what happened with MD after Ken sold, that would have nothing to do with him.

It's funny that you come on with a fake screen name as a coward to try to smear someones name, yet afraid to show your own.
Yep im a coward you got me... I registered in July 2012 and was hiding till now to jump out and post...

I know more then you think, Ken and Lund is a cash game for you, just like selling cars.. I have no issues with you or anyone.. Just stating people need to look into who your going to trust with your 30k plus car...

Also Beef we all know MD was so far in debt from screwing stuff up and paying out of their own pocket, they had to sell from going bankrupt... I believe Cincy Speed had a chance to go in buisness with them and wouldnt touch them with a 10ft pole because of the debt...

Your also right what happened to MD after Ken and Brandon sold it, shouldnt reflect on Ken. Except he continued to work there and help them out and once again it failed..

Guys,

I have a polished 2200 kit ordered for stock available to ship today.

I can do this as a tuner / complete / or beefcake special setup.
