That seems to be the easiest and readily available spot to do it.

Is the the bypass valve supposed to make a fluttering sound when you let off the throttle. Im used to blow off valves on turbos which released air once at throttle lift. Seems this bypass valve flutters alot aftsr throttle lift until the rpms drop quit a bit.

Mine flutters as well after I get on it and then let off. Remember though, it's not a BOV which works in black and white, open/closed. It's a belt driven boost which needs to be "leaked" so to speak while the belt continuously spins the turbine, while a turbos boost is released or "blown off" when the butterfly shuts.

I might have gone full retard and be completely wrong, but that's how it all seems to work in my world. :beerdrink:

Buddy did that with ones jpc sells. His shit leaks oil out the filter itself. He got tired of it an did catch cans on both sides. Not sure about everyone but we DD our cars. Least 200 miles a week.

I would kill for a commute that short, if I only drove to work and back I would put over 300/week on!

Even on a car like mine that is an occasional driver I still don't recommend the open element filters for all the reasons above. I talked to JPC about getting these and they all but refused to sell them to me when I mentioned the car was mostly street driven. I've also heard some rumblings about there being issues with it not creating a vacuum like the PCV system does, but I don't know how much substance there is to that.

I hate you all for this entire thread! I'm so close to pulling the trigger on some sort of FI, but I keep telling myself I don't NEED it. I hope I can hold off....

I will definitely be in touch with him sometime this year. Just trying to get some more miles on it..

Oh yea, and see how much tuition is going to run me for this coming semester...

I work full time, and go to school full time... Just finished my associates degree at San Jac, and now I'm transfering to U of H... I guess what I'm getting at is I'm holding off to see how painful this transition is going to be... School comes first.

If all goes well and as planned- Then I will be making the purchase early March.
