Cool story bro... Now go start a build thread. This is the 2200 thread... lol

Build threads...haven't had one of those in 4 years...ever since my 500whp cavalier. Guess I'm not "cool" enough for the 2200 crowd. ;)

If I had taken pics of the kit the entire way I would. Thing is I didn't, and now I'm a tune away from it being done for now.

Eventually it will be wastegated, depending on when boost comes in and what the dyno looks like. By the calcs I will need about 675 at the wheels to produce high 9 second passes at my weight.

Let the tuning begin!!!

Skunk are you sponsored by BBR?

Um...no. Why would you ask? If you're referring to how I calculated my ESTIMATED et, that's how I do everything. Everything is calculated. I want to know what to expect or at least have a goal to shoot for. If 675whp and 3400lbs with driver will yield a 1/4 et of 9.8 @ 136mph then that's what I'm shooting for. I know that's a "perfect" pass and the reality will be somewhere in the low 10's, but it's something to shoot for. That was by no means meant to be a "bench" racer comment. Simply something that comes from calculations and ultimately leads to a goal that I set.

Take a look back. I posted pics of a custom setup and if I hadn't said it's a 1500 NO ONE would have been able to tell otherwise. Then someone makes some smart ass comments and I retort back with some smart ass comments. Not trying to start anything, but if someone wants to make stupid comments about it being a "2200 thread" and proceed to start that kinda crap, I'm not going to sit by and take it.

I built the bracket and my entire setup. How many of you can say that? That's what I thought.

The amount of time that went into measurements and verifying the angle of the blower along with making a tensioner. The motor actually sits at about a 2* angle and threw a degree of difficulty in that I didn't anticipate.

Cool thing about the bracket and the "lil" 1500 I've got...a 2200 would bolt into it's place. To be honest it was going to be a twin turbo setup and as I was tearing it down, I saw a huge hole where my a/c compressor used to be and asked myself why can't a supercharger go there? So I got to work. Built a plate that bolted to where the compressor used to be, then added some extensions off of it...now I have a blower.

Well t he pics tell us its not a 2200 from mounting.

But you deleted your AC. Fuck that. Most of us DD our cars and want the luxuries as AC/Heat. I have a street/strip/show car. Not going with out AC.

there is a rerun on Horsepower tv right now where they installing a paxton 2200 kit and they are bragging about going from 412 hp to as much as 550 hp. they should have bought their kit from Beef and they would have been making more than that at the rear wheels..

I've seen that one a few times. Garbage Paxton tune is what's holding the hp numbers back. They put around 470 something to the wheels. Same kit with a real tune will be 100 more at least.

Huh???

Why would you wastegate a SC? Unless you plan on putting on a pulley for 18lbs and then turn it down to 11-12 with the gate.

Anyways, not a 2200... Just sayin.:nk:

Yup 488.86whp 4 cylinder. I'm afraid to post the vid...the 2200 police might come for me...

That's precisely what I plan on doing. By pulleying the blower down you increase the efficiency along with increase the rate at which boost comes on. You also increase the cfm hence more power per psi from all the tests that have been done.

Oh and gizmo...better not be eatin after midnight and you must STINK!!!! Seein as you can't get wet...

And I daily this car. Air conditioning isn't exactly something you NEED it's more of a nice thing to have.

Impressive build Skunk.

How quick do you intend to spin the SC once you waste gate it?

Don't skunks stink?

I DD my car also. It has over 18k on it now and is a year old. And AC is a must. Specially since it came with it. If I am deleting the AC it will not be DD street car any more.

And good job build a 488whp import. Nothing I haven't seen a billion times.

I sense a bit of hate for Skunk... to each their own.

Interesting build with the 1500SL - hadn't seen that on a coyote.

Since when is a Chevy an import??????????

Planning on spinning it to about 50000 impeller speed. I've still got more digging to do to find some more data about the blower before I go to that point. Paxton lists the standard 1500 at 55000 max speed. I don't know if the self lubricated blowers are less or more than the oil fed ones.

Skunk's only stink when they have been threatened by imminent danger. The only thing I've had going on since I posted is some interweb bullying and the 2200 police telling me I should make a build thread. Not threatened AT ALL.

Thanks to those who have commented in a positive, constructive fashion.

I'm interested in if there are different allowances between the SL and oiled units as well.

Just bought a 2200sl kit used with 8 rib, 2.95 pulley, Jlt intake and some other goodies picking up id injectors this week too hopefully make some decent power on my 9.5:1 aluminator! Probably not honey badger power but still should be fun I hope! Gonna tune it for 93 for now with a bap hoping for 650-670...any of you guys think a snow kit would be a good idea? Not for drastic hp jump but as a safety net? Thanks!
