So, who's running the most boost out of their 2200? Anyone up in the 14-16 range?

What pulley size as well, I'm on a 3.6 right now

I'm dropping to a 3.4. I already have it. On stock engine. Stretch is on a 3.3.

When built engine time I'm thinking 2.9...

How is this? Can u explain? Why wouldn't it be good in the long run?

Not saying i know; there is a lot of talk about catch cans. I don't think anyone knows for sure. All cars whether SC or NA come with PCVs which may be purely an environmental requirement. I'm only going with what I heard from Paxton, Ford Racing, or what installations have been done like HP TV and SEMA. I've seen what an improperly installed catch can ventilation system can do to a SC. My buddy's CTS-Vs SC was full of oil. He only found that out once he spent numerous hours checking out why he was using a lot of oil.
I'm going with what I consider a safe option to the best of my knowledge, which is limited.

Reading this may help you understand how the system works and how to properly set it up and/or delete it. http://www.stangtv.com/tech-stories/engine/tech-crankcase-pressure-control-oil-and-air-control/

Also check this out and make up your own mind. http://mustangpartstech.com/Engine/BreathersandPCVDelete.html

I will say this though, I would stay away from the JLT units on a forced induction application. For one they are too small and catch very little of the blow by in a boosted application. On my N/A car they worked well and the lines had very little residue post separator but when I ran two on my Paxton car the lines had an excessive amount of residue post separator which means it's not exactly separating the air/oil. My cans were bone dry after a couple thousand miles, I mean not a drop in the bottom of the cans but the lines post separator had a lot of residue in them. There is nothing wrong with running separators on a boosted application if they work as intended, and for that you need to run a couple of feet of line to a catch can. This way you're not just blowing right through the can and into the other side. For a boosted application a single large vented catch can is the way to go. You can also delete the pcv valve/system so you completely remove any chance of vapors or blow-by getting back into the system. People have been doing this for years. If you do go with the small catch cans just check your post separator lines and make sure nothing is getting passed the separator. If it is then you need to switch to a different setup and possibly delete the pcv all together. I highly doubt it ould pass emissions though if you delete it.

I'm going with the catch can install "blown mustang" that was on HP TV which is the Paxton install per the instructions plus a can on both sides. I'm not convinced removing the PCV and capping off the intake manifold and SC inlet is a good thing in the long run and in a few years I'll have to go for an E test. Can't believe how much research and reading I've done on catch cans.

I setup my JLT catch cans based off of that episode and it didn't work too well as I explained previously. Just be careful taking advise from a TV show they can tell tall tales based on who is paying the bills.

Just installed mine wow alli can say is this was by far the worst install compared to the tvs, hellion single, and procharger stage 2...really hope the results justify the excessive cutting and obnoxious bracket (had to assemble on my own fml) anyways, I've got a 2.95 on it but I'm on 9.5:1 compression so I'm hoping for mid to high 600s...the 8 rib is a nightmare to install as well if you're not slipping stick with the 6 lol I just didn't wanna chance it after all the slip I got with the tvs...got 2200sl, Jlt, 8 rib 2.95 pulley bosch 95lbs injectors, bap, stock manifold orx x pipe , manual car with 9.5:1 aluminator motor. Hope I have awesome results to share though! Should make around 16psi I'd assume I'm running pump so it's not getting an aggressive tune unfortunately

Just read through this whole thread because i just got a paxton kit off craigslist.

The bracket is unassembled so i will have to do that. (Any comments/tips?)

I also have the boost referenced BAP, not the universal. Should i ditch it and get the universal? Seems like some are having issues with the boost one..even though its way more expensive.

For you manual guys, what gear ratio's are you running? I have 3.73s in the car and can roast 1st and 2nd as-is lol.

Lastly, which steps should i switch around compared to the instructions? I saw some of you mentioned that the instruction manual said to install 'x' later but by the time you got to it, there was a bunch of other shit in the way.

I'll be installing it in a driveway with a friend. Probably just put the car on some ramps...if anyone in the Austin area wants to help, that would be awesome. (I'm actually in San Marcos)

Download the manual, it tells you which spacer goes where in the bracket. I bought my kit new and had to take the bracket apart since the belt was routed wrong. It's not difficult, just take your time and measure the spacers with calipers to make sure you have the right ones in the right spot. There are two bracket styles, hopefully you have the new style. The first brackets they sent out had belt alignment issues. You should be fine, they fixed the bracket issues pretty quickly so not many are out there. As the for the BAP, I would recommend the JMS one. You can run it on all the time or use it as a boost referenced BAP with a hobs switch. It's reliable and easy to hookup and it works. I got mine new from JMS for $300/shipped from their Ebay account. Offer them up $300/shipped and see if they take it. They are owned by SCT so you may find them that way. I have 3.73's and 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd gear are completely useless on street tires. On radials it's a different story, with heat in the tires you can hook in 1st without too much issue.

I would switch out the 3.73 that's what I have and will be going with 3.31-3.55's. I would also get a KB Bap, or get the universal vortech Bap!

I will download the manual and get working on it during the week. This kit was bought last summer, so i'm assuming it has the newer bracket. Guy only put 2500 miles on it and his #6 blew out. I'm going to sell this Vortech BAP and probably pick up a universal or KB one. The JMS one is too expensive for me right now. Still need to order a 50mm tial q before i start installing too.

Since this is the unofficial 2200 thread and it was falling down the list too far I wanted to ask a question. Guess who's joining the 2200 club?

<----this guy.

Just ordered it a few minutes ago from beefcake. Thanks for reading.
