I've done a search and haven't found anything on this topic so I figured I would ask. Has anyone added in an extra dome light to get more light in the back seat? Its impossible to find anything back there at night especially with the tinted windows. If anyone has done it what light did you use? Did you just pull power from the current dome light? I figured if I put led's in I won't have to worry about any fuses. Let me know, thanks,

Actually that's a pretty good idea! Maybe even put a light on each side instead of in the middle.
The LEDs, if not done right, will end up blowing a fuse so be careful.
The dome lights and any other interior lights are powered from the SJB behind the passenger side kick panel.

Find a wiring diagram for your year model (see some references on this site for a couple of them).

Let us know what you do!

Get another set of dome lights, drop the head liner. mount it in the rear and run the wires to the front dome lights.

I spliced in wire to my dome lights and ran wire to my floor boards and back glass. I have 2 8inch leds in the floor boards and 1 16inch led across the back glass right behind the headliner so you cant see the strip.

There is a guy on here that sells LED's. They work really good. I got them for the same reasons u want them. And to let my daughter see how to buckle up in the early morning.

Difference between stock and LED's and then the last one is through my 20% tinted window. $16 shipped. I'll look for the thread for u.

Ok I know this is an hold topic and not sure I waited so long to even change these bulbs but here is my problem.

I installed Blue LED Bulbs in my dome light and they looked great until I realized they don't turn off. They get very dim but they don't completely turn off. the factor white bulbs worked fine so I am at a loss.

Any help appreciated

You have to get bulbs with built in resistors for them to completely turn off. Superbrightleds lights all have built in resistors. I went with the red and blue Ford Racing themed interior lighting.

05-06 models didn't need the resistors for l.e.d.'s, for some reason that changed with 2007 model year.

I just noticed I have the same problem of not shutting off completely. How are bulbs with resistors identified? Have you got product source?

Thanks.
