What's up with the crank pulley, dual serpentine set up? Overall looks like a cluster, but not bad at all thanks for the pictures :bigbeer:

Where does the belt in picture #5 go?

The cam and crank sensors are now at the back of the motor....

There are two belts, one for the alternator, one for the a/c and waterpump...

There is no p/s pump as the p/s in now electronic assist

Sooo....What exactly will the no PS pump do for people wanting to do engine swaps into 05-10 cars? Have to switch out the whole steering as well?

I noticed the plugs look like the older style. Hope so. Same compression as the Mach 1 motors. Hope they didn't use the same pistons though because then these would blower not friendly and just a monster of a motor

You will need to come up with a way to mount a p/s pump, there doesn't appear to be any provisions.
Have to see what and if the f150 or crown vic use for a motor and or p/s

Hyper pistons, forged rods, forged crank, the new man. trans is from Getrag

11:1:1 squish ratio.....................hmmmm.
I see these things being a good N/A motor, maybe also combined with some N2o, but bolt on boost seems out of the question.
I do not see these cars making more that 500rwhp with a blower. The boost would have to be kept very low (4-6 psi). For f.i. I'll stick with the 3v.
Its still going to skull rape the Camaro.
What does it red line at?

change the rack to the electric one out of the 2011 car, and buy the 2011's electric pump, hoses and lines. im sure we can use the same tank we have. should actually be a pretty easy swap. just got to mount the electric pump somewhere but that should be easy.

This really is a great improvement over the 3V. Oil squirters allowing 11:1 compression on pump gas!, the stock exhaust manifolds look like an actual header, 4V, forged crank and rods (yes!) and VCT for both cams. I agree that bolt on boost will not be an option, but imagine this engine with a 125 shot.

depending on price i plan to do this.

Your thinking what I'm thinking. Electric PS has been in imports for a while and is a pretty popular swap for ones that don't have it. Some even have a stand alone computer to you can adjust the PS feedback to your tastes!

I noticed the rods...looked like I-beams. Will this motor have much room for improvement through tuning like the 3V does? Seems to me with that high CR (which BTW I thought was actually going to be 10.5:1) and factory headers, there's not much room for more aggressive timming and bettter flowing exhaust; thoughts on this subject?

This thing make me wonder if a better choice to the GT500 I'm about to close on would be an 2011 GT with the track pack...

Actually it appeared that everything was mounted in the rack, no hoses, no external pumps, there was about 100 wires going to the rack. My guess it would not be an easy swap as there will probably be some external control modules. Couldn't tell you for sure though, they wouldn't let me take it apart.

I am sure that it will respond to most of the typical upgrades, CAI and tunes (mostly because the thing is setup to run on 87 octane), But like before I wouldn't expect diesel like improvements. Keep in mind there is a new HP war in detroit, they are wringing these things out to get the power they need at a price that people can live with paying.

NOT forged rods, IIRC from the 19 page article in 5.0.
