I guess I'll speak for the Comp Cams. The 127020 has been an excellent cam for me. There are some mild differences between the FRPP cam and 020's. I still prefer my cam over the hot rods. I also run the FRPP Intake Mani, which I still believe is absolute overkill for N/A, it does increase the power curve to around 6700rpm peak with some small power gains. Not worth the killed bottom end, but such is the N/A life. To N/A advantage, the setup did produce some nice N2O numbers. The numbers don't do the nitrous power curve justice though. It's a sweet ride when it all works together. I have a feeling the cams will shake the motor/car apart before the engine ever gives out from over-reving or bad gas, lol.

Mustang Dyno
306hp. 343tq. All motor
4.10, cold air kit, long tubes, no cats, bassani muffs, Bama tune

406hp. 468tq with a 100 shot Zex

I was thinking of cams just because of the sound....

It runs 107mph currently on the motor and 114mph on the bottle. What I really need is a few more mph so these damn Modded LS cars will stop running me down...in my area they are running 116-120 mph so they are pulling on me hard on the big end.

I have similar mods:
4.10s, intake, catless, x-pipes, bbk TB and 93 race tune from Bama. Dyno was 326 to the wheel and 319 Torq. Cams would give it a nice boost.

Wow that's a high dyno number for those mods. Most people with those mods seem to get around 305rwhp. Long tubes?

Do seem a bit high but saw it with my own eyes. No long tubes. With those numbers I didn't want to dish out the cash for the tubes plus install

Pypes long tubes OR X
JLT 2

Cause comp fucked up and didn't change the grind when started on the passenger side cam. So there was 15 of us or so with driver side stage 1 and passenger side stage 2 cams. And comp can did fix the cam. But the are a piece of shit company when it come to customer service . It cost me $300 cause of their fuck up.

Wow.. why not??

Guess just making excuses but there is an 1/8 and a 1/4 track where I'm at. Even a program where you keep street racers off the street and let em run. Have to make it there soon. Had my car over 2 years and never been there. Have only run in "Mexico". ;-)

I love my BBR stage 1's. The driveability is awesome, I can drive around a parking lot looking for a space with no trouble at all. They sound awesome, I'm into the cams 489. I did the install myself with the help of this forum and no special tools. 1000 miles on the install and so far so good.
I have buddies that spend more on an axle back then I have into my cams haha. Here is a quick vid. MBRP axle back, stock mid-pipe, and stock manifolds.

I'm still using their tune as well with the Stage 1 cams. Runs ridiculously rich; always have people commenting on how terrible it smells. Tried AM but their tune blew balls always having an intake backfire on cold starts even after several revisions. The tune also felt weaker than the BBR tune and ran worse times at the track.

Once I get windows on
this net book I bought , I'm going to try and get with lito . Gotta get the FRPP intake on too . My toon isn't too bad but I can't stand the company anymore after the hassle I went through telling them something wasn't right when they sold bad cams to me. They just blew me off.

Comp basically doesn't give a shit once they have your money. I installed their phaser limiters and beleive they don't work with the later versions of phasers. The install tool that comes with them doesn't work with the newer phasers either. I had a phaser come apart, due to their crappy design and cost me an engine. When I tried to explain to them the problem with their design they just blew me off. I have Comp cams in my car now but I will never deal with them again.

They admitted fault, but then sent them emails about that I was upset that it cost me money cause they fucked up. No response whatsoever .

I'm also wondering why other people haven't mentioned Detroit Rocker cams in this thread......from my limited google researching of cam upgrades for a 3 valve, the brenspeed Detroit rockers seem to offer the best compromise for people looking for an NSR cam swap......That's whats on my Christmas list this year. After cam swap I'm DONE with my car, then just gonna focus on paying the mofo off.

I went with hot rods mostly because AM tunes for them constantly, and that's who my tunes are through. I know for a fact that AM also writes tunes for the rocker's, and I've heard good things about their tunes for them as well. I just liked some of the numbers I've seen from the Hot Rods, and some people don't like the rocker's because brenspeed hadn't officially released the specs on them. Whether or not that's still true, I'm not sure.

Nothing wrong with either. What people buy and put in their car is what they're going to recommend.
