When I shift between gears, the car stays in a high rev state. Is this a problem with the tune?

So I have the Comps 127300... I like the cams due to their drive-ability.
But I hear more power can be had...???

Anyone go more aggressive from the 127300 cam?

I guess my options are the 127450 or the 127550?
Description says the 450s have smooth idle while the 550 have rough idle.

How rough is the idle on the 550s?

Well that's good to know. Thanks buddy.
Dan ...

Just so you know I have as well as some of my buddies been there.

According to the Cams it can be a Pain in the butt to get it corrected.

Something else I will mention to you is the following.

According to the overall set-up certain cam combinations don't work well at all with certain Superchargers.

That also is something I and some of my buddies have found out.

And in some cases it cannot be corrected in the tune.
So we have actually a few times just said, (Screw-It) and had cams taken out and replaced with cams known to work with same set-up.

What would seem to not be all that big a deal sometimes turns into a damn nightmare with everyday driveability.

Can you cruise below 2,000 rpm?

Is there any bucking felt in low (in gear) RPMs (800-2,000 RPM)?

I have no problem cruising under 2k. In fact I do it on purpose, because I enjoy the thumping and rattling. Gets tons of looks. Plus the HP increase is really noticeable. Car is real snappy out of the hole and at high rpms. Definitely worth every penny.

I'm rolling with a NOS setup and the drive-ability isn't bad at all. The high rev between shifting only happens after awhile of driving. In which I drive around 30 miles a day between work and home. And if a new tune doesn't fix it. I'm still going to keep these and learn to drive with it. The high rev makes it real easy to shift and go fast, it's learning how to drive slow that makes it a challenge. lol

Well hopefully your Tuner will be able to get it to where the High-Rev between High RPM Shifts is minimal.

Just got off the phone with Brenspeed. Got a lot of great info on my high rev situation. Basically, it's the Ford Throttle body that is causing it. And there is no silver bullet to fix that. You can help the car learn the rev limits by letting your car sit and idle for five minutes and then turn on your air conditioner to make it bog down and the car will learn the rev positions. But there is not really anything you can do. My setup has a lot of major air running through it and that helps create this situation. Plus, I'm also used to driving it stock. So I guess I need to learn the new way of the mod driving.

Since building my engine with ported heads and Hot Rod cams, I've had three different throttle bodies on it and the surging idle is not because of the throttle body.

It's adjusted with dashpot and isc idle. Both are controlled by the tune. Sometimes a tooner will decrease the decay rate so the car doesn't stall or shuffle. This results in hanging revs and/or a flare during driving idle.

It can take awhile to get it just right but it's possible. I would doubt that a busy shop would have the time to do it. Just another reason to learn how to tune your car.
