I wanted to get some lightweight wheels and stickier tires. I settled on some 18" TSW Nurburgrings, because they're a good price, they look pretty dang good, and they're stupid light (a little over 18 lbs each).

I thought these things were black, so imagine my surprise when I pulled them out of the box and found out they were the exact same color as my car:

After replacing the heavy stock chrome rims with these beauties, I also decided that I had to get rid of the chrome badging on the car. So I ordered a pair of black "5.0" emblems from Blue Oval Industries and a CDC Decklid Panel from American Muscle.

My pony looks rather evil now, like something a Dark Lord of the Sith would drive. :evillaugh:

I need to decide what to do with the chrome pony in the grille. I'm either going to tint it hyper black or remove it altogether and replace it with a black billet grille. I might black out the third brake light and side marker lights, too.

Great improvements. I am with you, chrome has to go. Black grill with pony delete would be my choice.

What wheel width and tire sizes did you go width? I couldn't find the right heights in 18 inch rims.

Wheels are 18x8" on all 4 corners. I chose the slightly 8" narrower rim over the wider ones so I could utilize cheaper tires and reduce unsprung mass as much as possible. I forget the offsets; they're the only 18" Nurburgrings on AM's website, though.

Tires are Nitto NT555 in 255/45ZR18. Unbelievably sticky rubber. This car corners like a freaking go cart on the Autocross grid now.

I ordered the shoes from American Muscle on Wednesday afternoon, and they had thme mounted, balanced, and on my doorstep on Friday! They sent me the wrong lug nuts, though; the Nurburgrings require narrow "tuner" lug nuts.

Looks good, Is that the gun metal color they offer on there website? First pic they almost look bronze, then gun metal in the next, and black in the rest. I like how they match your care almost perfectly.

I opened this thread thinking I'd see an all black car.

Car does look good though!

Yes. It is the gunmetal color. It has a matte finish.

Small update. I eliminated the last of the nasty chrome by installing a black billet "Pony Delete" grille from American Muscle. I also removed the "Steeda" windshield banner. I've got black tint to put on all the corner marker lights, but I need to wait for it to warm up before I can install it.
