I'm still looking for afloor jack as well. The jack I had my entire adult life failed on me last year. Luckily it was nice about it. I was swapping tires on the wifes car and when I went to get the car off the jack syands the jack wouldnt lift it. Had to get a H-D cheapie just to get the car off the jack stands.
It was a jack I've had for about 30 years, used infrequently the last 20 of those compared to the first years. Big and heavy sucker, ~100lbs, the handle was pobably 7lbs of that. No name, made in china.
So looking at jacks that are readily avaible they all have customer reviews that horrible.
This place appears to have good stuff:

I've not bought anything from them, just saying. I'm still deciding, "paralysis by analysis".
For the safety aspect others have said. i had a car fall on me when I was in my twenties. I had a cheapo jack stand that was iunder the rear. I had the car on ramps up front and on stands in the rear in the driveway with a slight angle. I'm lucky to be alive, it happened fast enough i had no chance to get out from under it. I got my head in a spot near the trans and that kept my skull from being crushed.
The way my old reliable jack failed would have been the same if it had been used without stands, no time to get out.
