Lol if you spent $200 on a tune that made less power than you and the tuner wanted to see, didn't run a great mph at the track, and you were left waiting on more than one occasion for service, would you be happy? That's the whole point. I listened to what a few of you guys said and the stuff Lund said and they convinced me to go with them. I try and help people be informed. There really is no reason to spend $50 more on the Lund tune. There's literally no benefit to going with them. Yeah they make some good tunes, I never said mine sucked. But in all honesty the AM tunes are better. And frankly its irritating. Look at it from my point of view.

And this isn't one good experience from AM. I've had many great experiences from them. This is just another one.

I'm not trying to act like I know everything. There is still a lot I have to learn. This post was just to give MY experiences with both. That's all. Looking back I wish I hadn't spent the money on the tune ill never use but oh well, live and learn.

And about seer, I know he's a good guy, just saying 12.32 in a stock car on stock tires in the DA he said sounds virtually impossible. If a new guy came on here posting he did that, everyone would call bs lol. That's why I just wanted to see the slip. If it's true, gotta give him props lol.

And who cares what I post on YouTube. It's the same damn thing as the forum. Just trying to help others out.

how is the AM tune better? Because it trapped higher on a different day? Unless you compare them on the same day with similar conditions this is a voided discussion.

I've dynoed both tunes back to back, where both made similar peak power, the lund tune crushed it in power under the curve.

That was a bone stock 5.0, with a few hundred miles on it that my friend just picked up a day or so before and threw the keys to me while at the track.

Manual with 3.55

Nice!!
Best I could get out of mine when stock was a 12.56 with a 1.99 60'

Haven't run it yet with the SC I'm sure it would be a little better lol

Either way it's a great run.

Ehh I'm happy with solidly 90+mph in the 1/8 and solidly over 114mph in the 1/4.

And I already told you thanks lol.

Perhaps look into taking a pre-race shit and piss..drive a little better? You have a signature with " stock " tires.. put something that will help your driving senerio.. and perhaps the " 200 dollar " tune will be worth it with better traps etc..

Lol so you ran a 12.32 in a bone stock car? I definitely call bs on that. Timeslip?

Here is some more BS for you:

11.88@119 with a tune, tires/wheels, front passenger seat and spare tire removed. It ran 120 that same evening.

No i'm saying no reason to choose Lund over AM/Bama for normal bolt ons. And based off my experience I really believe that. Not trying to be a dick, just being honest man. I'd go with you guys if I had an all out build. You guys seem to be pretty good with them.

Well no shit.....they have tuned the quickest/fastest 5.0's on the planet. I think their credentials trump all other tuners out there no?

What he's saying is that for mild bolt-ons, is the extra $50 on a tune worth it. Is the juice worth the squeeze? For light bolt-ons, $50 would be better spent on gas than a different tune. I've spent extra money on different tunes from different people (bama and VMP) for my intake/exhaust 4.6 and the extra money I spent wasn't worth it. Was the VMP tune better? Maybe, but there was no SOTP gains. No point in shelling out that much more money for a nearly stock car as the gains will hardly be noticeable.

I beg to differ especially when it comes to the automatic. Places like Bama have no idea what they are doing with them.... You get what you pay for period.

Well not according to iceguyb14. You see he has done real world testing on both CAI vs stock air box and tunes and has come to the conclusion that BAMA has the best tunes on the planet for the new 5.0's and an aftermarket CAI is a must when running these motors N/A. I'll say it again this guy has no clue with his huge amount of experience with the 5.0. But afterall he's just trying to help the community with his vast amount of knowledge. :thud::thud::thud:

I'll say this about my Lund tune over my Bama tune. As Seer pointed out, power below the curve is better with the Lund tune. Also, at high speed, going from light throttle to 3/4 throttle doesn't have the hesitation in it like the Bama tune does. My Bama tunes have all had this *bump* in the tune when in 5th or 6th and going from slight, open throttle to 3/4 or more throttle. The faster I'm going, the worse it is. Over time, it will become less and less to where it's just slightly there, but it really makes a difference when going from 50-100. My Lund tune gives me almost a full second quicker time doing a 50-100 acceleration starting in 5th gear.

I didn't want to get involved in yet another this tuner vs. that tuner thread. But when Icecubguy got to the point of blindly and somewhat ignorantly supporting one over the other, words needed to be said. My Amazon tune runs better than almost any tune I have. But I like my Lund cammed tune, which actually pulls a bit harder compared to the others. I'm working with KenB on the regular tune.

Now that KenB is on the job with Jon Lund, bitching about their customer service is a moot point. Not knowing Lund's background or realizing that Lund is the most sought after tuner for pro race cars leads to a lot of BS being bandied about. Hell, I had issues getting back with Lund about something in my original tune. But he did get back to me and give me a great tune. Knowing his background, I knew I'd have to be patient. But like I said, now that Ken is on the job, the response time is damned near instant.

Absolutely. There is a ton of stuff that goes on behind the scenes that 99% of the community doesn't know about. :thumb:

I must have gotten lucky and got one of those 'rare' good tunes, best $50 I ever spent in my life
