Dont look at it that way Dylan lol.

Do you enjoy rowing gears? If so, stay manual. Since I know it'll be a DD and mainly not racing, you'll enjoy being able to rip it whenever. Nothing is more fun than that.

If you're gonna race a lot, and really don't care about enjoying the shifting, then go auto. I don't like auto for many reasons, in a DD sure, in a DD/Racecar ehhh.

Its gonna be my DD. I don't want to walk into work all the time and see my car up on a rack getting the trans worked on again. I like rowing gears, but I don't really get to do it that often. 3 mile commute in stop and go doesn't leave much room for play time lol. Just thinking of my TR-3650 locking me out makes me angry too.

Test drive both, they are ridiculously over hyped on the "issues"

I can only test drive what we have on the lot. Since I'm not buying new, I'd end up with the trans that came in the used car. I'm also not about to ask my boss to buy me 2 cars so I can try before I buy lol. I was thinking about going to try the auto, but I don't see the point since it will most likely be tuned before I even drive it away.

I thought so at first but quickly changed my mind after buying my 2013 M6. the M6 might feel faster but my 2011 auto was faster and far less problematic.

I can see why you hate it, and you have reasons. But even then, youre gonna hear of EVERY person having a problem. But you'll never hear us who have 0 issues running around claiming how perfect of a transmission we have.

What do you expect from a car you can buy under 30k new, and still have over 400hp? It has its bad ones, just like anything else. And Getrag has been notorious for "noise" even though mine has very very very little whine. My 07 was way worse.

i find it interesting that most manual guys are of the opinion that Automatics are for pussys and manual is the only way to drive a car like a man. yet automatic guys say that manuals are ok but they prefer an auto transmission. is it an Ego thing for the manual diehards?

That's an easy one, automatic owners of the type B personality

Thanks for including the word 'most'.

As far as my wife, myself, or either of our kids are concerned, a car with a manual transmission is just the way that particular car works and nothing more. You get in, start it up, buckle yourself in, and drive off without ever thinking that most everybody else's vehicles don't work in quite the same way.

Perhaps you chose it in the first place because you knew that it fit you better for whatever your individual reasons happened to be, but that's not something you pay any attention to afterward - you really don't give this any thought at all until the topic comes up for discussion on an internet message board.

My wife does gets a kick out of it when she drives some co-workers to lunch - and somebody notices that she's driving a stick shift car. You just know they never saw it coming.

unless you know what i have and have not driven, you really cant assume on my behalf...trust me ive driven a shit load of cars, with diffete trannys, options, power, driven wheels, motor placement, etc.

no TUNED every day automatic will replace the control of a manual, sorry it just wont. now a dual clutch super car flappy paddle gearbox gets close...but not a mustang automatic.

my manual is solid as a rock and no issues AT all...

but if your auto is your preferance, awesome for you.

I was replying to your post when you said they can't be "fun". Nothing to do with "control". As a manual AND auto owner and racer, I can tell you launching a auto with a converter is shit tons of fun...and quicker then a comparable manual. :thumb2:

The people who say the issues are over blown haven't had to deal with them. I can tell you after owning a hugely problematic MT-82, and actually knowing people with issues that it is not quite as wide spread as some think. Plus, even if you have a good one now, what are the odds of a Chinese built tranny holding up way down the road?

Food for thought...

ive owned cars with a converter, its fun at one thing luanching...but unless your doing that at every street light...it just isnt as fun as the over all experience as a manual...IMO.

Yes an auto is quicker...

I still know people who flat refuse to believe a tuned auto will beat a well driven manual 9/10 times.

Are you reading the posts? From what I see, everyone that prefers a stick is making it clear that it's more enjoyable to drive one, not that the autos are for women. Even though that IS the reason automatic transmissions were invented. :thumb2: lol
I already told you how i felt....I love the auto. I enjoy driving this car much more than i did the mt82 car. LOL i will let the computer shift for me. All i have to do is hold on and keep the wheel straight.

If you consider this enjoyable, then by all means go get the automatic.
