Dropped a clip and could not find it for a couple of very stressfull, profanity laced minutes. Luckily found it sitting on the inner fender and i got the car back together. The more miles i put on the new clutch line, the better it feels. Still going to upgrade the clutch master, just ordered BR3Z7A543A(2013 GT500) clutch master cylinder.

What's the difference with the '13 GT500 master?

Ford redesigned the clutch master for 2011. It is supposed to move more fluid than the 05-09 oem unit, allowing for better clutch pedal feel and improved high rpm shifting. . Not much to be found about the swap online, but a couple people on this forum did it, and reccomend it. So i figured i would give it a shot.

Just got what was supposed to be the oem 2013 gt500 clutch master cylinder, but it was BR3Z7A543A which is the 2011-up master. GT500 master is DR3ZA543A, BR3 goes for about $140 and looks identical to the factory unit in my 08. DR3 is the GT500 specific master, and goes for $82.03 at Tasca. Will be calling steve at tasca friday to order the correct one.

Decided to just order 9r3z-7a543-a, the part number for 05-10. The BR3Z i just sent back looks identical to the 9r3z, might or might be the same part, so i figured save a $50 and buy the 05-10 part.

So if you're not upgrading to the GT500 master, why switch it at all? Does it leak or something?

I'm in the middle of doing a clutch master cylinder replacement.

Lots of swearing. Sure the parents at the bus stop across the street didn't appreciate it much.

Quite a PITA when you have long arms and bricks for hands. But it's out and I'm just waiting on the new one

Bleed actually wasn't bad at all. I probably spent 5 min pumping the clutch pedal. Works like a champ.

Now I have to figure out why my brake lights won't go out :ugh1:

There's usually a switch on the brake pedal under the dash. You might have knocked it loose.

Mine was them same. The tab on the brake pedal assembly has been bent towards the front slightly. Just bend it back towards the drivers seat. Even though it seems to be engaging properly it isnt. Give it a shot. I bought a new sensor thinking I broke it. But once I nudged the tab back towards the drivers seat it worked fine.

Update...finally installed the 2013 GT500 clutch master cylinder. Did a quick 15 mile test drive, high speed shifting is much improved. Install was a major P.I.T.A, will do an install thread with pics once i get them uploaded.

I sure did type pipe thread didn't I? Lol. I was thinking one thing and typing another. What are the threads used for holding hydraulic or air pressure, are they UNC?

JIC and AN fittings. JIC fittings are 37 degrees and are mostly agricultural while AN fittings are 45 degrees and are often automotive.
