Broke dafuk down
Obviously it is a decision you will have to make. You FINALLY got a setup that is working great and a TUNE your car can live with lol! I totally get the serious money you have wrapped up in it and how frightening it is every time you turn the key over.

Trading it in
Pros:

-May on paper secure some very short term financial relief (until you start modding)
-Will have a more reliable ride (until you start modding)
-The 5.0 IS a wicked ride (for stock.. until you start modding)

Cons:

-You WILL lose a TON of money selling off the car/parts
-You WILL experience sellers remorse
-You WILL be giving up alot of your hard work
-You WILL have PAYMENTS ughh (from what you indicated)
-You know your car inside and out.. no question about that!
-Parts are coming down on the 4.6 stuff, not the 5.0
-Modding a new 5.0 "may" void warranty so be ready to enjoy your stock ride or risk out of pocket

If you are confident in your current setup it is a tough call. I have that same bug every couple weeks. I LOVE the looks and the offerings. BUT, I still love my car and it has its personal touches. I personally would rather have your car and mine over the new 5.0 and that is what keeps her in the garage.. not that I would sell it anyway lol. If someone offered me 100% of what I have spent on the car I would still not sell (I know that is crazy). So am I lol..

Trust your good judgement and what is right for you. Just don't jump into something without plenty of time to think it thru and be realistic about the choices...

Good luck either way bro, and I have dibs on the fuel system lol...

BTW.. I think I paid like $28 for my kill switch..

You have to keep it since some of us donated a few bucks to help you out....just saying. Lol. Do what you think is right but I would keep your car and enjoy it.

That is a great point! We could take it to a vote... I think I already know the answer though.

It's gonna take more than a little boost and a tune to equal "reliable" 700whp. He'll need to spend the money to build the motor as you say from a good source. Honestly while I would DD a boosted car on pump gas I don't think I'd ever feel quite comfy calling it "reliable". A backup IMO would be a necessity. But then I'm not a gambler lol

The new extras are for the most part nice though I'm not thrilled about all of them. The gauges being one. Whiteface. Ugh. And what is this about "new feel"? It's the same chassis dude. He already has a modded suspension and you know he'd mod the new one anyway.

I have been though a lot of the same thoughts as the OP on this. and I said 600-700. There is a very different feel to a new car then a 4 or 5 year old one. And the new features are nice, I have them in my pickup. And dont DD my car though. Again JMO. To each is own and I will leave it at that.

EDIT: LOL I am not trying to talk the op into selling his car! I think he gets it.

OK so he sells this for 26 if he even gets that. Then he puts another 15K on top of that, minimum, to buy a new one and get it even close to where his is at performance and "reliability" wise. So he can get the "new car feel" that his 4-5 year old car doesn't have. Then what in 4-5 years? Take a bath on another one, again, and then do the same thing over again?

No offense intended but I really wish I had the cash flow "problems" you guys have to justify dumping 15 grand for a new car feel and a slightly upgraded interior. I'm seriously jelly.

This is the kind of deal I should've waited for. The already built car that someone else put all the money and work into already and then decided to take a bath on it so they can get raped on a new one that they'll do the same thing to in the end. And in another 5 years I should just look the same people up again and see what their latest fire sale is.

I see where your coming from man but my original goal was to sell it, put 6 or so down on 5.0 and bank the rest. I am getting out of the army and I am just trying to bankroll as much money as I can. I was just thinking irrationally. I need to step back and evaluate my situation and see if I really need to sell it.

I honestly don't see how taking on more debt makes any kind of financial sense. Putting 6 down and banking the rest means you're losing money.

So go get you a new loaded 13' GT500 ( red with white stripes) and bring it to my house Sat. and you have your self a 800 rwhp car. LOL

You don't know what you think you know me and my car, that is for sure.
