Long story short, went to the track and missed a shift 2nd to 3rd, car hit the rev limiter and threw the check engine light. When I would press down on the accelerator it was misfiring. Weird, thought I definetly blew the motor. I shut the car off and restarted and everything was fine, light and misfiring went away and stopped.

So is it possible I hurt the motor or do these coyotes go into limp mode when they miss a shift and hit the limiter?

For those wondering, 2011 GT M6, Lund tune, Boss IM, JLT, Offroad X

Same thing happened to me. I missed a shift going pretty fast( 2 -> 3). Car went into limp mode, wrench came on, bogged down, and had to pull over. Turned off the car, and restarted and everything was fine. That has been a year or so ago, and the car is running fine. You're good.

Alright, at least that gives me some relief.
