Hey Ron,

Is it back together yet?

no it isnt. the noise is back, this time only when the belt is on. All the pulleys spin freely, but the water pump has a small noise to it. Its an Eh20 pump so its pumping fluid fine, but i cant ee hoe the small noise from the pulley translates into the loud slapping/contact noise we here when the belt is on.
Also the crank issue wasnt the crank sensors its the pcm. it did it again and lightly tapping on the pcm while having the key turned will allow the car to start.

I give up.

If you have the eh20 pump with the idler pulley it could be the bearing in the pulley.

The PCM is also bolted to the side of the Bused Electrical Center. That little bitch caused me almost a year of grief with a semi random stalling event. Eventually, it got bad enough that I was able to trace the problem to one of the large connector packs on the bottom of the BEC being loose. I unbolted and removed each of the connector packs, checked for issues with the wires or the pins (nothing found) and put it all back together and torqued it down. No problems sense.

You are in the very same area and pretty much ALL of your cars signals pass through the BEC in one form or fashion. I would take it apart and make sure each of those connectors is torqued and seated correctly (aka: TAKE it apart and then put it back together correctly!) before I started looking at the PCM.

I had the PCM replaced on my car (under the emissions warranty actually...) and it made NO difference. All the techs at the assorted dealerships said the same thing: The PCMs on these cars generally work until they quit working. They don't do the intermittent problem thing.

They were right too.

Good luck getting to the bottom of this. I DO know how frustrating it can be. I love my car, but it was getting to the point I was starting to research RDX on the internet!

Well got the car down from jack stands today to make it easier to work on.

The noise is still there but oddly enough after the car warms up it seems to go away and then turns into belt squeal. Probably after 10 minutes or so. I know i do need to move the power steering pulley in more so that may take care of the belt squeal noise, but the other knocking/slapping noise is much harder to pinpoint as it just decides to stop on its own. I did listen to all the pulleys with a stethoscope today and it is not the water pump or any of the idlers. It is not the tensioner either

Im at a loss on that. No start up issues today, started right up but there's sill a loose connection somewhere. I will check the BE
C for sure, but i never undid anything from there, but i like the idea. Thank you

Im debating a test drive at the moment.

I tried to capture the noise. I can hear it in the video but i also know what im listening for. I think you can most predominately hear it in the video when i move the camera down to the pulleys. Let me know what you think

what about the rotors on the blower? maybe it needs a overhaul. I have taken blowers apart because the rotors were making a similar noise. CK's blower was making a similar noise.
