Mustang Mach 2 Concept

I was cruising the web this morning and found an aeticle about this car and thought I would share it. I never knew that ford had dabbled with making a mid engine mustang it almost has some ford gt styling to it in my eyes but I can't imagine a mustang without that slope back style from that era. It kind of looks cool but I still can't figure out what they were thinking with this design, almost seems like they were trying to go up against the corvette with it being a two seater. Anyone else have any thoughts

My bad, it was not the Mach II concept, it was something called the Mach 40 which was a cross between a Mach I and a GT40. Pretty much the same idea utilizing the GT40 drivetrain for the mid-engine set up. Couple of pics for your viewing pleasure.

Well, it kinda is...
