My 05 Gt for a Turbo Trans Am?

There's a guy on craigslist selling an 01 WS6 Sts Turbocharged trans am for 11k,it has 140k miles on it. I asked him if hed trade for my 05 gt straight up and said he would if I threw a couple hundred his way. My car needs a new fuel pump and his needs a tune for the turbo. He said it should be pushin more than 500 hundred horses. My car has 88k miles on it. What do you think about the trade?

What else is done to the car? Auto or 6 speed and remember the rear end is junk in that thing.

I would like to know if there are some problems with the turbo kit and how long he has driven it without a tune.

Maybe he cant tune it right and something is wrong so he's just parting with it? I would have a very thorough inspection on it before I did it..But if it did work out, that would be a pretty cool trade.

Stock motor or rebuilt? stock internals or upgraded? I would get as much info as possible.

He's selling it to pay some bills but would take a trade and a couple hundred? Doesnt seem right to me if I needed cash and had to sell my car for it I would sell it not take a trade. Either its junk and has a horrible tune issue or its just junk.

Needs bugger injectors too... those are expensive.

First question should be "Why isnt it tuned already?"

The fact that it is laready turbo'ed means that he either just put the turbo setup on and was too fucking cheap to get it tuned immediately, or hes just been riding out untuned like a fucking retard.
Either way the car is probably a basket case.
I would run away, far away. Unless of course youre looking for a project and are not afraid of the possibility that you may have to rebuild the engine asap.

Hell he is only asking 9 for it according to the link you posted if you really want it...take your car to carmax get 13k for it buy his for 8 and have 5k to get that POS fixed right. Just saying...

I was just going to mention the same thing about the "needing money for bills" thing... Dude, that's a headache waiting to be had. Don't do it. Those cars are ugly as hell too.

Yeah dude i have to agree the ws6 is a sweet looking car but that's just asking for trouble if you ask me. Plus those cars are so uncomfortable

I wouldnt trade but by reading his ad I am guessing that it has been tuned but he needs bigger injectors and a retune to make the power it should make due to the injectors not flowing enough fule as of now.

No way will carmax give that much. That place will screw you over good.

Back in 2008 I considered selling mine to go buy one with a manual trans. I took it to carmax since I was told they would do better than the stealer, I had 30K miles at the time and the car looked 100% new inside and out (still does if you ignore the mods ) and they only wanted to give me 12.5K even though KBB said I should get 20K. I also owed about 19-20K at the time too.

Fuck carmax.

And I took my vortech kit off and had it for sale on here and craigslist and I guess someone recognized my car from the pics and knew it was off the car and broke into the house and took it. That's all they took,my insurance company is making me go through some stupid process that's taking long but hopefully I get something back.
