Ron, are you doing Test in Tune Nov 7 at Mason Dixon? A couple of us will be there trying to do what we should have been doing at Rockingham (racing!)...

See you at Cecil on the 14th otherwise...

no exhaust to speak of just some short bullets on the LT's
60' was 1.601
1-2 shift was early 5800rpms seemedto run quicker
2-3 at 6200
3-4 at 6200
mine is an auto so i was using the e-brake and stalling it up on the converter to around 3200rpms. i looked at the datalog a couple nights ago and realized it only had 32degrees of timing at wot so there was probably more left in it but oncei ran in the 11's i just didn't care.
i actually did the 11.89 run at capitol in crofton same place i just ran the 10.91 almost every car of mine including my supergas roadster and super compdragster has run the best at capitol in the fall. 25ft above sea level helps a little but for some reason it's just a fast track for me.

thanks man, I think I short shift a bit from 1-2 I never see my shift light come on...lol I shift at 6200 as well right at the peak of the power band. I still want to run 11's with a stock long block... 4.56 gears are going in along with a tru trac. Im going to try a 26" tire and a 28" and see what nets me the better time. I feel the 26" are getting harder for me to hook leaving at 6200 rpms... that and they are getting old xD

also was at 3550lbs. wet and my 1\8 mile times were 7.50 as well which was really good for an auto car footbraking.
I actually had some 28" bias MT's (no tubes) when i ran that. it only went through at 5600rpms at 114mph. switched to 26" radials and lost nothing even gaining 26lbs. of rotating weight so i think it could have run better with 26" bias with no tubes.
i had no belt on for the 11.89 run but used the short belt on an 11.98 just before and the following week at cecil 11.94 and 11.93 runs then mid day ran 11.91 with no belt. ecm got screwy in the evening when it cooled off and kept going into limpmode so i'm sure i could have gone quicker but couldn't get the issue worked out. never did figure out what was going on. it just cured itself.

not sure if you already have done this but datalog your IAT's. back then mine were up around 90degrees on a 50 degree day then so i got some heat shielding and put it under the intake to block the heat from the coolant hoses and around the CAI.
just did the same on the new combo and went from 11.26 to 10.99 with no other changes. it dropped my IAT's from 118-126degrees peak down to 80-85 degrees peak on a 65 gedree day. if i could ever get them to ambient temp i could probably run 10.60's or quicker add a trans brake and :) already had a 1.46 60' just footbraking using the ebrake on that 10.91 run

what type of shielding did you use? do you have pictures?
no pics cause it looks like ass :) a big f'n baked potato under my hood but it works and anyone who knows me will tell you performance is first i worry about looks second.
i got reflective barrier ( basically bubble wrap with aluminum on both sides)some from a home improvement store that comes in a 25ft roll for maybe $10-20. DEI makes it as well but it costs about 100x as much $40 for a 18x24 piece

That's pretty cool Ron, I agree, it doesn't have to look like show car quality, it can run 10's N/A so who cares :p. Most of the time your car has it's hood closed anyway, unless I'm unaware of any frequent changes you do to the car under the hood between runs lol.

Do you have any plans to swap to the new JLT 110mm CAI? I was thinking your current (Steeda? or is it JLT?) CAI may be holding you back.

wellit's not maxed out yet but i really wish someone would make a CAI that matches up to the GT500 TB on regular GT. it really necks down at the TB with that POS $100 steeda "high flow" elbow. guessmaybe i should go back to my homemade deisel exhaust pipe 6" elbow but it'sso damn heavy :)

I can't wait to see what this thing makes after some more tweaks. I'm sure that exhaust pipe elbow is heavy, but I doubt enough to slow your car down.

yeah to run that quick the second time out with a new engine combo hasme really excited about next season. JJ thinks there's a couplemore tenths in it just from getting the tune workedout a bit better and I'm really thnking about some serious weight reduction.....think plasma cutter and tig welder. it needs a roll bar anyway :) if it weighed what a fox body does it would damn close to a 9 second car.

I am really astonished that you got to 10.9's so quick. I'd love to see what your car would do with foxbody weight and a few power tweaks, that would sure be a sight. Just imagine being a 9 second N/A 3V. :)

I'm already imagining it :) and have a plan....next goal i guess. where does this end. first it was run 12's then 11's then 10's now 9's damn i can't afford to try and run 8's N\A with a 3V mod motor....that would cost a f'n fortune....unless i stick my engine in pops suncoast roadster (it only weighs 1900lbs. with a BBF and glide)....hummm....PA makes a bell housing for a glide to mod motor swap....

:naughty1: I really think you should try for 9's, it might be a good goal. If you got to 8's N/A(which I agree would cost an unimaginable amount) with your engine still in your car, Justin Burcham, Vinny Barber, etc would be so shocked LOL.

Or just slap on a TT with high boost and hopefully run with the fastest guys in the 3v mod motor world, hmm........

i considered something like that buti built an NAmotor with superlight shit. my rods and pistonswouldn't handle the boost or power. it can make about 700-800hp flywheel hp max beforeitwouldjust self destruct.
I could however use a 250 shot and easilyrun mid 9's in full street trim but i like doing it NA plus it'sa better bracket race combo. power addersjust complicate bracket racing.
I think as long as i keepthe stock suspension points no one will fault me for cuttingitup if it runs 9's NA
yeah JJ i know what you're thinking....he said when he bought the mustang "I'm not going torace anymore just driveit and have fun"....then it's on a trailer with slicks a month later. now he's talking about doing a whole chassis and stuff... it's in my blood.
