The difference is:

Regrinds are factory cams reground to spec. The shims go under the lifters.

Billet cams start out as a billet shaft and cut down to spec and proper dimensions. The billets do cost more do to material.

We have installed them in both cars with 3.31'sin autos as well as 3.55's in manuals.

As for the VCT Lockouts. There is only 2 ways to install them. You either set the VCT in the fully advanced possition or in the fully retarded possition... They slip right in.

When you say they slip right in - do you mean you do not have to re-time the motor? Just a little in the dark when it comes to this vct business.

Car will need to be re-tuned with the lockouts.

You're adjusting the timing in the cam gears. There is no retiming, it's either fully advanced or fully retarded.

Perfect. Thats what I thought you meant earlier so I was just checking. You don't happen to have instructions for these in some kind of pdf do you? Just want to know exactly what I'm getting myself into.

++1, I would like to see too.

Also, is there a negative side to using the shims? Is there a higher chance of failure vs the billets?
