Interested in 6 qts + filter for an 06. Thanks Greg!

Sig or XL? Sig is good for 25K/1 year and XL is good for 10k/6 months; the EA filter goes with the sig series oil and the XL oil uses the standard wIX filter.

I run the 5w20 sig series in mine with no issues; I wanted the best/most protection on the engine/sc esp since I don't DD it and it may sit for long periods of time. It was a while ago but I remember reading that zinc is not the best additive for non all out race cars so I stay away from that.

I am not an oil expert nor claim to be, if you wanted in depth info on zinc/oil I would ask someone with more experience than me.

Thanks! I would go with the Wix filter, concur?

For break in, I agree with using a lesser filter like the Wix. Honestly, you don't even need to invest that much money. I'd use a Ford Motorcraft FL820. For less than $4.00, you get a reliable filter that will be just fine for a 500-1500 mile engine break in.

After break in, there is nothing like the Amsoil EaO11. It the best full flow filter manufactured for the Ford modular engine, period. However, you get what you pay for, and this filter is more than I would invest in a short term break in filter.

I agree with you, I used cheap oil/filter to break my engine in, got it up to temp and then drained it, then put the Amsoil in.

Builder is saying run the non synthetic for 500 miles for break in to get everything seated. Let me know how much when you get a chance.
