The Dorman Slave at Rock auto is the same OEM part and number that you would get at your delearship. The stainless line and new slave is a must for the price when going after market.

I tried an aftermarket slave (McLeod adjustable) - it was a leaky POS. Went back to a new OEM slave with a McLeod RXT twin disk. Works great.

+1 leaky POS but that was back in 2009/ Went ahead and put the stock back in. Lethal stepped up and refunded my money.

You may get the transmission out without tilting the engine, but you'll play hell trying to get it back in. Some guys beat the tunnel with a hammer where the scratches are from removing it. The transmission has to be scooped in meaning the tail piece needs to be down low until the input shaft is through the pressure plate diaphragm, then lift the tail piece level and finish sliding it in.

Mcleod had a problem with their o-ring material on the earlier slaves...mine leaked then I installed a new seal kit and it held up fine.

I would think that they are probably from different manufacturers, but who knows? I do know that the word is...stick with OEM on this part even with stock type replacements, not just compared to adjustable versions from McLeod and Ram.

Not to get of track here, but I can say that I've had 2 vehicles here, my son's and mine with the McLeod and Ram set ups. The McLeod version is better now that they have the o-ring supplier straightened out. I had my McLeod in for 5k miles without a drip of brake fluid after I installed a new o-ring seal kit.

Unfortunately I am swamped with HW and wont be able to really get headway until Tuesday since I am on leave. I bought a new slave from Pep Boys and it was over nighted, ordered Friday night came in Sat I think I will be picking it up today or have my wife grab it after to work tomorrow.

And I realized I didn't get a military discount so I am taking it back and buying it again, it was supposed to be $132 but with tax came out to $145 the discount would bring it back down.

I don't think so

Yup, I got my kit from BBR...so far im liking it alot

I think they added the price of the new slave in to our price it didn;t just come with it I read there clutch page multiple times and it states nowhere that it comes with a new slave. Although that is a common auto shop thing whether you need it or not to say hey you might want to add this for X amount of reasons and if you have the cash most say yes.

I am not saying anything bad against BBR nor you I am just stating that clutches just don't come with parts that cost over $100 and still be the market price I can see a new pilot bearing ($11) but not a slave. I want to clear this up so people don;t rush out a buy a Excedy clutch from BBR and then wander where there new slave is.

Hopefully I will get it down and out today picking up the slave in a few.

I finally got started taking everything off today what a bitch.

I had to remove:
6 hot side turbo pipe
Mid pipe (Exhaust)
Driveshaft
Cross Brace
and a ton of bolts and nuts

he only bolt I have left on the tranny are the tranny cross brace and the top engine/tranny bolt that I have to get at from the top. Some of the bolt were a pain but with the combo of two wrenches braced is a breaker bar fashion and an assortment of ratchet attachment they weren't that bad.

Although on the top longer bolt that you get to from the bottom it took me listening to two songs two unscrew it by hand and then realized that I could use the ratchet after it was loosened up a bit (yeah brain fart, cold as shit in the garage, late, tired and out of beer).

Actually ALL exedy clutch packages for the 3V mustang come with a new OEM slave from the factory, regardless of who the distributer is. Its packaged in the same box as the clutch and not a separate peice. FWIW.

I stand corrected that's awesome, I don't have a problem with excedy but the HP/TQ was not there I want something that could handle around 700RWHP for when I upgrade the short block. Only making around 470 now but want insurance in the future and the Stage 3+ will handle 840Ft TQ so I should be good.

1 freakin bolt

Even with raising the rear of the trans the passenger side top bolt it a pain because there no room to put my hand to get the wrench on the bolt. I am using the double locking wrench method for leverage and it work great on the drivers side but the passenger side is a whole new issue.

And wear is this clutch hydraulic line clip and connector from the clutch slave bolt. The picture doesn't help much.

I have a whole new respect for the real racers/teams that can drop a clutch and trans in 30min-1hour. __________________

Yeah I had a bitch of a time changing my clutch too. Getting the damn tranny out is the hardest part to do. I took off the intake to get to the top 2 bolts and then lowered the K member to get the tranny out. Took 3 days of frustration to finally get it.

Did you take the battery and tray out? The top bolts aren't too bad with it out.

You won't be able to get at the clip until the tranny is lowered and pulled back some.

Call Exedy. They will tell you themselves they include new slaves.
I did this myself. Yup... they do it from the factory.
BBR added nothing.

The price for the Exedy clutches are GREAT btw.
Do some comparing and you will see.

And also... BBR doesn't play those games.
They don't try to sell you stuff you don't need.
You ask honest questions and you get honest answers.
They led me to buy a clutch that was less expensive because they thought
it would fit better with my aspirations.

Every time I have done business with them they have done nothing but
help me to find the best things with what my goals are.
Nothing more, nothing less.

The battery isn't in my way at all really, just the back on the engine is butted up against the firewall I have maybe 2inches maybe.

Thanks okay don't worry about the clip yet got it, I am reading this manual someone posted for me on AFM and ford says release the clip then take off all the bolts on the trans so that's why I am confused.

This is how it looks without the battery and tray

After removal you will be able to get a ratchet on the two top bolts.
