Are you 100% sure this car wasn't in a front end collision? I have seen cars that have been hit being put back together like that.

Yeah my wife's 02 is like that. Clean carfax but once you really get under it you can see the radiator support is tweaked and the passenger side wheel is about a half inch close to the rear of the wheel well opening then the driver side. Plus the hood fits and has caused the exact same issue with the CAI as yours just on the opposite side.

Well ordered the new coupler last night and went to Loews today after work and bought one form the pluming department in the meantime till it arrives, I also cut the heat shield about a third of a inch off the top (there was nothing to cut off the bottom) put it all back together and just got home from a 20minute drive....

NO FREAKING ERROR CODES WHAT SO EVER!!! I'm a little optimistic that that was my issue. The car drive good and I got up on it when I could and the wrench light never came back on at the red lights. There is still a knocking sound when I first turn the AC on but that stops after a few seconds. I'm still going to take it somewhere to have them check it out just too hear someone say it's all good but it might have just been the stock coupler and exhaust issues. Now one the next thing I want to replace the break pads and rotors they scrape too much for my liking. You guys think the stock breaks are good or should I look into upgrading?

Well drove the car to work today and everything was good. On the way home I put the cruise control on and soon after the check engine light came on but the car felt fine. When I got home I checked and cleared the code it was p1450 I looked it up and this is what I got.

The fuel tank vent probably got melted by the exhaust. Get under the car and look at it. If its melted thats why you have the code. Also it will make filling the vehicle with fuel hard.

Could be a dumb question, but have you checked your oil? Be sure your oil level is correct, and that it's fresh.

How good of deal did you get? Did you happen to do a compression check of #8 yet? Just to make sure it's good.

I originally thought i got a good deal but after the money I've forked out so far and counting I could have got one with a lot less miles and maybe a year newer lol. I'm going to get this code p1450 thing worked out but I don't think this is going to be my forever car like i hoped. I just have zero confidence in this thing being my DD. I'll keep it for a couple of months to pay down on it and trade it in while it still has some value. Sucks, I thought this was miss right but turns out she's just miss right now.

Well after a three month hibernation the car is finally up and running strong. I followed the advice on here and took it to Justin's performance shop and they got it straitened out in less them a day. I need a new purge valve and some hoses were routed incorrectly. I've had it back for a week and all is well, none of the issues have returned! I'm stoked. I detailed the inside and got it set up the way I wanted and today I put my old wheels on. Looks great now I need to spend some time on detailing the outside, it's filthy. I have a issue with the fitment valve stems on the front scrapping against the brakes, on the driver side all I had to do was remove the cap but on the passenger side it still scraps very lightly. Has this happened to anyone else on here I called around to all the tire shops but no one can see me today.

What a fucking PITA. Glad you got it all straightened out though. I know this doesn't mean shit now but as soon as I opened the hood on that car and saw that Bama dash plaque....I would have walked the other way.

Just read all the way through this again as I had forgotten about it. Glad JPC was able to set you straight. They have a great reputation and it appears they have earned it once again.

Congrats on finally getting the car running right.
