The other thing about headers is look at the ET list on this board. All the fast N/A guys have them.
I would be interested as to who has the fastest stock exhaust manifold car on this board. Anyone know?

There is good info in there! The only thing is when we put UDP's and delete plates on along with a tune we gained 4 tenths in the 1/4 mile. And I would go with 4:10's as you gain a lot on the track and you don't lose drivability!

headers are worth nothing. i put them on and gained nothing. if u do it with off road mid pipe u will see a gain but thats all in the cats. talk to some tuners yourself. the places i talked to that sold headers said they were insane and picked up huge numbers and the tuners i talked too that just tuned, didnt sell parts said absolute ZERO gain and not worth spending money on.

i would say udp's and delete plates were maybe worth 10whp combined. cams i would venture 30whp wasnt unreasonable and obviously the custom tune was a big increase. but most cars with my mods are at least 330whp.

If you're just looking for about 100 hp gain and don't want to break the bank and still have great stock style drivability. Look into the RoushCharger.

This will put you at around 385 rear wheel horsepower and it'll still allow the car to be covered under Ford Factory Warranty.

Funny you mentioned that. I was at my body and paint guys shop today and he whipped out the new Roush catalog. Time to mull which way to go.

Just an FYI. Those kits that purport to be "Warranty Friendly" please take the time to read all the fine print. There are enough holes in those things to drive your Challenger through.

But then again this is from someone who believes that most warranty's aren't worth the paper they are printed on. Just sayin. :thumb:

out of curiousity, how is 5 grand not breaking the bank? especially for a roots blower thats still under 400whp.

btw, with stock manifolds i ran a 12.91@107 on street tires with no weight reduction.

Regarding the header issue it's easy to see why a person can be kind of on the fence. So much conflicting info. And not just from car owners but from different tuners and blower manufacturers like KB.

If I have the money I might do a little experiment and be the guinea pig. Get the car tuned before they go on. Put the headers on and come back asap to have it tuned again. Assuming the weather is the same that should be a good test.

Proof's in the pudding as they say. Worst case scenario I end up with one hell of an expensive engine bay appearance/sound mod.
