Need MT82 measurement

Running numbers for a 5.0 swap into my 97 Ranger. I need the length from the front of the bellhousing to the attachment point of the shift linkage. The shifter from the M5OD is only 18" from the bellhousing so I suspect I may need to fabricate a remote shifter that is forward of the attachment point...or just go with an auto but where is the fun in that?
