Continuing with my suspension upgrade, I have received my UPR adjustable UCA and mount from...you guessed it, UPR. I will be installing them soon.

My only concern on the install is loosening the mounting bolt under the seat but, it will probably end up being of no consequence.

I was supplied with more washers than are required for my install and I only see a need to use one washer for the large, in-cab mounting bolt. If washers are supposed to be used on the UCA mounting bolt. It ain't long enough. Besides, a lock nut is utilized so, washers don't seem necessary.

I'm a little disappointed that I did not receive a UPR decal with this unit as I'm am quite positive this decal would knock of a few tenths in 60 foot times.

I've put together a few pics of it assembled in the way it will be installed, except for the big bolt, of course.

It looks damn good. Better than I thought it would for UPR honestly.
I am Looking at buying a UCA this week. I am looking for POLY or some type bushing as my car is a DD. No solid ends. I have mostly BMR susp. parts so far, which I do love, but pricey side on some things. I assume you may have done some homework before buying. My question to you and any others is who's got the preferred adjustable UCA with mount out there? Trying to avoid Metco/whiteline/BMR b/c of price, but may have to go BMR if nobody has good feedback on this UPR. Any feedback I certainly appreciate.

I doubt there's many out their that would know what's the best and I did do research to end up purchasing this one. I actually ordered a UCA and mount from Whiteline before I found out about their 'problem' to which they don't seem to have made any improvement over.

This UCA set up looks bullet proof as it's built like a tank.

As for installation, I don't see any problem with the install. Will be easy to do. Setting up the car on stands. Now, that is never too much fun.

Yea I knew whiteline had some issue. Looks like UPR could save me about 20 to 50.00 over a few others. I agree with jack stands being fun. Especially when lowered. I just installed the MGW and did ramps in front and stands in rear and got by. Keep us posted after you put it on with your impressions of it.

Looks good! Believe it or not, we're out of stickers right now. Let me know before you place your next order and I can get you a free t-shirt.

I did the same thing on my '06 GT. Installed my UPR LCAs right away and then installed the UCA and mount later. I was blown away by the improvement in the UCA. I could tell the difference about a minute after I left the house on the first drive. (car felt more solid)

The UPR is good stuff.

The 2011+ cars still need the torx plus bit to drop the straps on the tank? Just curious.

First time was a lot harder than the second time doing it. Only really difficult part with my 06 was getting the bolt torqued down @ the differential. Much easier with someone else holding a wrench on the bolt head.

I'm not sure because I haven't looked for a while but, it seems to me that the tank is not in the way of the mount on mine. Last time I was under my car, putting on new LCA's, I remember thinking to myself, 'why do you need to drop the tank for that mount? There's nothing in the way of it.' Maybe I'm wrong but, that's what I remember.:headscratch:

If you do drop the tank, replace those crappy Torx bolts with standard hex bolts for the next time.

I've decided I'd like to use ramps on the front and stands on the back for this project so, I'll be hitting the parts store for the ramps.

What is the size of the replacement bolts needed for the tank straps should I need them?

I broke the 24mm bolt loose with a 18" breaker bar with not much hassel. Im a lightweight so should be easy for the average size person. Reason you have washers is the stock bolt threads into the uca mount itself, whereas the upr one looks like a thru hole hence the nylock and washers.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback on this piece. I looked at the exact same part at the UPR tent/trailer at Mustang Week a few weeks back. The UPR rep was going to give me a nice discount for paying in cash, but I didn't have the cash on me. I wish I would have gotten it then. It's a beefy looking part for sure.

Just got finished installing the UPR UCA and mount. It was a fairly easy install as it turned out. No need to drop the tank. No need to remove the panhard bar or the brace. As anticipated, the bolt in the cab was a bitch but, I got it loose after cobbling together an ingenious array of 'stuff'.

All I have to do now is tighten bolts on the adjuster and set the pinion angle which presents it's own problems. I did an initial measurement and realized that there is not a parallel surface on the flange. The one area you can attach the angle finder to has a slight taper which does not follow the true angle of the pinion. I'll get a pic up that shows this when I continue this project scheduled for tomorrow.

This will mean finding a different area to get the 'flange' reading or coming up with yet another ingenious method. Stay tuned sports fans.

Wow man, your car looks great underneath! So does the UPR UCA & Mount, if I don't say so myself. :)

Thanks! It ain't got many miles on it yet.

As I said before the surface measurement on the pinion side is a little iffy. In the picture it seems as if there's a good spot to place the gauge but, it only seems that way. In the second picture, I have marked possible locations to place the Angle finder. 'A' is where I placed the gauge in my initial reading, before I did the install. It looks like a good location except, it has a very slight angle to it. So, I can't really say that my measurement is accurate.

Location 'B' maybe a good spot as well as location 'C', if I'm able to set the gauge across the bolt faces.

Since I have done the install, I've had to adjust the pinion angle by feel, as it where. As I'm working with the car on floor stands, I am limited as to how high I can raise the car. Being as I'm a rather large person, room under the vehicle was very limited and literally right in my face but, doable for the install. The area where the UCA is mounted is, to say the least, cramped. The biggest problem I ran into was bolt tightening and making the adjustment of the turn buckle. This because of the very limited amount of room available.

What this all means is the job is a bit half assed and it will be necessary to take it in to my old shop to use the roll on lift to do some fine tuning. I'll be curious to see how close I came to the proper pinion angle.

To be continued...at some point:popcorneat:
