Right, I'll keep it short and sweet:
Option 1) Don't spend any money, keep my car running like it is and get a different car after a little while

Option 2) Push back new car, buy and run a 50/50 meth kit, pick up 3.73's (got a good deal on these right now) and potentially new D/S and control arms. With that, take a decent sized hit in the wallet for a little while but I could easily see ~500 whp. Plenty of torque to snag a good looking 60'.

Thoughts on doing this to a daily driver? It seems like a pretty extreme idea to push this car that hard when I rely on it, but I'm confident in my tuner and companies like Snow. Seen their kits run on several of those hard launching hard punching Evo's and STi's. Definitely lost because they had that kit a couple times.

Do you have the stock bottom end? If you do, this being your daily driver, get the other car first. You don't want to be walking to work.

Not saying it can't be done, as I did have a pretty reliable daily driver that turned 10.60s. But, your taking a gamble.

Agreed. Are you in a position to be able to fix it when it breaks? If not leave it be. 450+RWHP is still enough to have some fun till your better prepared for the can of worms you want to open.

I can fix it, I'd just prefer not to have to.
The whole plan from the get go was to be able to fix it when it decides to let go, so I'm prepared for that, I'm just not in a position where I'd want to build it because to build it requires alot of money, and I can't run the power of a forged engine through the stock 5r55, so I'd be talking to level10 too, fuel mods, etc. etc. just a big hassle I don't want to deal with right now.

I'm leaning more towards the new car, though I don't think many die-hard ford fans would like the toy I want :p. The idea of running that level of power though is tempting, I see so many more people doing it safely, my tuner's been churning out better numbers, etc. Glad I'm not tempted enough to just go up the boost and try it out without any extra cooling.

Now you must spill the beans on the new car! Do tell

If its a GM we all get to kick you in the pants!:deadhorse2:

I think you mean :nk:
but yea, all in good time........
at least one car I'm considering is a 2011 :O
Right now I'm trapping ~115-120 unofficially (haven't had much to go off of since tracks have been closed), need more experience launching, getting out to the track again soon I hope.

You don't have a timeslip?

If you want to go low or mid 11s, just work on reducing some weight when you are at the track. Wheels, seat removal, etc.

Yes, I agree, because 120mph is easily 11.40 capable. Even if your car doesn't leave hard you should still be in the 11s quite easily.

There's a decent sized event coming up 2nd week of march I'll have the time to go out to. Until then I'm loaded down with work. My main worry is the tranny at this point, pushing as much torque as I'm pushing is more threatening to it than the engine I feel because I know the tune's a decent 11.2 A/F at the very highest.
