I'm rolling the dice. Weds Sport TC-005, 18x9, 39mm offset. I've always liked these wheels but I'm not sure how I'm going to like them on a Mustang..they're kind of like the FR500's though. Pretty light too, under 19#. They were only available through Tire Rack and are now discontinued, I had to look around for a used set (these came off an Evo 8).

I'm still waiting on FedEx to get them to me, will post pics once I finally get them and decide on tires. Also considering having them refinished in silver, or maybe even white. I'm hoping they'll clear GT500 brakes without spacers (waiting on FedEx for these as well..).

If your's are all the same size, and you rotate them like you're supposed to,then they'll get darker even, but if you run staggered setup, live by the ocean(NJ,salt water air, winter with snow+salt+sand, and acid rain like 2-3 times a year)in 2 years the crome on those weels will be peeling of so bad dude like you wouldn't believe.(thats ofcourse if you run them all the time)If you have winter wheels thats something different! It all depends where you live and how you use them(track/DD).My friend both chrome TSW Jarma wheels looks bad ass,but the chrome was peeling of so bad in just 2 years,it looks like corn flakes!!MY :2cents:Close to salty water+winters=NO NO chrome

Sounds to me like you just need to learn how to keep chrome clean, it's not that hard to do.

Last I looked, San Diego was kind of close to the ocean. And my wheels never get rotated. Different tires front and back, and the tires are directional. So the fronts have always been on the front.

CHROME IS HISTORY DUDE+ SUCKS!!! :2cents:
plus the chrome that they sell today, the front wheels will get destroyed from the brake dust

Silver is good,or powercoaded black.Nice rim too:thumb:,just make sure that they are the right offset,so they dont rub all over the place and lok like shit
2.5 years with mine as well . Very easy to clean , soap on rice off , done.

Hey guys quick question.

Alot of these wheels are in 18x8 dimensions. If i ran 18x9.5 all around would i run into any trouble with lets say the front?

Any 18x9.5 rim with a 40mm offset is the same offset and size as a GT500 wheel correct?

I really do not want to run a 18x8 rim in the front because its a .5" less in width than my stocker 08 bullets right? And as far as that goes it will look really small in the front.

Advice/Suggestions appreciated. I really do not understand the wheel sizing thing to its full extent.

What do you mean chrome is dead??? Next thing you'll tell me is bell bottoms are out of style.......

As a registered 'Certified Old Fart' I still have a soft spot for chrome and / or polished lip, but I also have to agree with the 'too blingy' comment in places. Everybody has their own preferences and tastes (just like music and color choice), so I guess I'll stick with mine and be an outcast until things change back again in a couple of years. I must admit that the advances in powder coating have opened up a wide variety of options.

Asking for style advise on this type of forum will probably get you more different opinions than if you asked 'what should I look for in a wife'! My only advise is choose carefully - unless you have a great deal of discretionary income you will have to live with that choice for a long time. Sort of like the wife comment.....

Happy hunting!

you gotta go for what you like......it always nice to get someone elses opinion, but in the end it's what you decide. i was in the same boat a couple months ago looking for an upgrade to new wheels and tires. i asked around to get some opinions and reactions, but in the end i found what i wanted..............
DSCF0260.jpg

i chose these....18x9 for the front and 18x10 for the rear.

i like what you finally decided.....it willlook great!!! screw those that disagree.....it's YOUR mustang!!

DUUUDE you might as well slap a S-type badge on the fender!!!
They are not even the right offset.you see on the last picture the rear ones are like 2" way in and the front ones are way out.Either you need like a monster spacer at the back or you put them ass backwards! The wrong offset also tels you, wrong wheels 4 that car!!!!
