Yeah we are excited. We looked at some in the 250 range and were same size but weren't finished as nice, weren't brick and had smaller lots. It was worth the 40k to me!

Yes, a 3,200 sq ft home is HUGE. Especially for just 3 people.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! No way. Come to Kalifornia hahaha. Fricken small house 1/2 that size in a decent neighborhood is $450K-$500K. I think you got a screaming deal for a brand new, 3200+ sq ft house on a 7,000 sq foot lot. BTW, 40,000 sq ft is 1 acre. So its a little less than 1/4 acre.

Move to Bakersfield! 1 hour commute to where you currently live isn't so bad. You could have a hell of a house here for that amount of cash.

I noticed the garage too. Kind neat how they kinda hid it on the side.

?. It's a 1/3 acre lot. Which is much larger than our last lot. And in auburn, it's a lot of lot, most are less than a 1/4 acre. Like 7000 sqft. Unless you want to pay 400k or more. This house was 290k

This is a pretty damn big house for just me, my wife and our 2 year old son. Lol.

Very nice!

We are literally in talks with a home we are considering... $489,000 on just a little over a half acre. 3340sqft, three car garage with a daylight basement.

Congrats!! I know how excited we were when we built this house. Nothing like a new house to put a smile on your face.

That's a nice looking house! I wish we coulda spent closer to 500k here, we woulda had a damn fine house! But unfortunately we just don't have that kind of income yet.

Do yourself a favor and don't put your TV above the fireplace, unless you are going to be sitting a long way away from it. Otherwise you'll get tired of looking up at the TV all the time.

I see it in new construction/renovations all the time. It's the "in" thing to do, but not if you're into TV.

I think the TV should be centered no more than 48-60" above the floor and you will need to be seated at least 8-10' away.

Yeah I hate it above fireplace. That's the way new builds are, they even have the wiring already snaked lol. My lady house I had a corner fireplace so it was great, and I used the avforum recommendations on height based on tv size and distance of couch.

However this living room is very large, 22x20. So I'll have plenty of distance on it.

A few more pics! They are in process of fixing the backsplash. And some lighting fixtures/fans were hung. Exterior almost done as well

These are 10ft ceilings and 8ft doors on first floor

Very cool. It's definitely going to be a decked-out house. I love that the doors are so big.

House has some cool upgrades to it. I like your kitchen cabinets and the ceiling in the dinning room. Nice!
