I am wanting to paint my valve covers and intake glossy black. Anything special I need to know before I do this? I was planing on using high heat Duplicolor paint. Do I need to worry about the gasket on the valve cover if I am careful? Should I use a primer? Can I lightly sand the intake after I paint a coat or two of paint?

I've seen some painted and they don't look that great. It'll look better if you powder coat or epoxy coat them. Here's a thread I put up also.

also just to let you know, you can powder coat the stock intake mani. i did mine and it turned out good.

i thought you could only powder coat metal. does the stock intake conduct electricity that it will work with powdercoating?
