Jason came down today so we could put his exhaust back on and install his LCA's, we also installed my one piece aluminum driveshaft that I have had sitting around for almost a year now.
We got his exhaust all back on and straightened out, repositioned the car for the LCA install, jacked it up, got it set up then I ask him "wheres your wheel lock key?"......."oh shit"
LOL he left it at home an hour away.
So we decided to be adventurous and install the LCAs WITH the tires on. Wasnt bad at all actually, I will probably do it this way from now on if I have to do any more of them.
Then we got to install my driveshaft, I did NOT feel like removing my over axle pipes because I JUST got the mufflers to actually come out of the bumper at the proper angle and length last week and I didnt want to have to realign them, so we replaced the DS without removing a single piece of exhaust. No major hiccups there except for a bunch of what seemed to be gear oil came pouring out of the rear flange where it attaches to the pinion flange, doesnt appear that my pinion seal was leaking though? I removed the old stock pinion flange and put the cobra flange on and bolted the DS up.
Took the car for a spin and SO MUCH BETTER. More responsive, all that clunking of the stock DS is gone, no high speed vibrations or anything. Im lovin it.
We were going to take some GoPro vids but when we went out to go film I got a call....from Jason....he forgot the SD card in his computer at home, lmao.
Anywho, onto the few pics I snapped during the day.

Thanks, it was a good time. Now I see why you guys always invite people over for install parties. Although this was a small party lmao.
I tell you what though, people werent lying about the seat of the pants feel from an aluminum D/S. Definite improvement.

Well, did not know that about the one piece driveshafts. What do you have for control arms? DId you have to adjust the pinion angle?

Yea it is great, I suspected that most of my clunking while getting on/off the throttle while in gear were from the stock two piece d/s and I was right, no more clunky noise. And cutting out a LOT of rotational mass from the drivetrain has definitely made it capable of putting more power to the ground.
I have J&M non adjustable lowers. I have a J&M adjustable upper. I have not adjusted pinion angle yet, I will one of these days but for now, I dont have any vibrations so I am not too concerned as long as I get it set proper before my next outing to the track whenever that may be.

I got a used set of UPR Billet LCA's. I threw a lil mothers on there before we put them on and while I had the exhaust off I went over the tips and the Stinger Muffler Canister with the polish as well. From David's pics you can see everything blinging under there.

Thanks for the help again Dave and I'm glad we didn't have any major hickups. Next time we'll do video.

Looks like next Sunday for the test and tune???

I probably wont be able to make the test n tune sunday, Me and Chrissy have to be at our friends house down in Lexington Park by 4:00. Unless I can get down to the track right at 10 when they open and at least try and get a few runs in and leave around 2:00
