I have an Aeroforce Interceptor Guage and since our cars do not have a coolant temp sensor only a Head temp sensor I was wondering what average temps are people seeing while driving for a while, with and without A/C.

I am NA with Comp 127300 cams, springs, LT headers, JLTII CAI, and polished heads...
With UDP I as seeing 215 average temps, I pulled the UDP and went stock pulleys now I am at 210 average temp and with A/C I am at 220. I have been fighting the temp issue for about 2 years and no one can find a cause. It all started after replacing the heads and it's been a nightmare ever since.

average temp for me is 180 but drops to about 170 depending on condition/driving, if i let idle it will go to about 190 and then back down but never over that 190.

180 degree thermostat here, I see temps of 190-200 as long as I'm not beating it up. This is in 90-100 degree temps with 40% humidity.

190-210 also activity dependant. Stock thermostat, 50-50 mix and a electric water pump.

Stop and go traffic it stays at 190 due to the water pump.

Sounds like air pockets in your heads perhaps?

I'm seeing the same thing, similar conditions. Temp sensor is on top of the crossover at the output where it goes back to the radiator (05/06 crossover), so it's at its hottest.

When it gets over 205 or so, if the a/c is on, the a/c will turn off. It did it once when I ran it a little hot :boobies:

I see 180 to 190 and as high as 210, on the interstate it'll drop down to 160 - 170. What temp do you want to be around? I always though you wanted to stay below 160.

My low speed fan doesn't even come on until 200*. Typically see temps in the 200* - 210* range. Not uncommon to see 215*.

Mishimoto radiator and I have a coolant temp gauge plumbed into the coolant line at the top of the radiator. 180-190 degrees, but creeps to 200 or so on a hot day..

I also thought that 180-190 was where you should be. I can't understand why it stays around 210. I was wondering about air pockets in the heads but I have tried jacking up the front of the car as high as I can get it while hot and it has not helped. I converted the t-stat and crossover from the 05 setup to the 07 since the polished heads are from an 07 and it still has not helped.

My Livewire reports the Head Temp at 196 when cruising. I have my Auto Meter Ultralite water temp sensor tapped into the coolant cross-over, it shows 200-205 at the same time. With A/C on I'm +5 degrees on both. On a hot day (around 95-100) I show 198-200 on head temp, and 205-210 on water temp. Stock pullies and T-stat.

I like the ability to monitor both, plus rail pressure, FPDC, Spark timing, Voltage, IAT, Oil pressure, Nitrous Bottle Pressure, and Air/Fuel. :)

160 tstat and car has not gone above 180 since I switched to green two years ago (measured at crossover). I thought that there was a stock temp sensor at the radiator. Doesn't the AFT gauge show head temp AND/or water temp?

I was told that the coolent temp was taken from the Head temp sensor and the PCM does a calculation to come up with the coolent temp. I have replaced the radiator and there was no sensor on it.

Mounting a sensor at the cross over is a good idea. I get pretty accurate temps there.

aeroforce runs 180-190 here in florida on hot days with the a/c on, if i sit in traffic it will creep to around 200-210......before the radiator and 160 thermo.....i could see well over 220-230 in traffic.
