No big loss to me... that place was dangerous IMO, and I wasn't planning on going back. But, at least they say "if" they resume, it will be "an improved and more competitive Strip". That would be a good thing.

They didn't have enough room for a safe shutdown with an 1/8... I'm not sure they have enough land to make it a 1/4.

+1

I use to run a 7 sec car there and it was scary sometimes. I quit going a while back because it just was not fun.....

We shall see what happens. I hope they do it right.

The quickest I ever ran there was a couple 7.21s, and it was a bitch getting it stopped safely. Donna made 3 runs, and wouldn't even go again.

Ok,

Picture this,

1964 Ford Galaxie sport roof. 466 on Methanol injection, Drum Brakes!

Yep, i said drum brakes. Car would do 10.60's in the 1/4. 1.47 60' times

The first time i ran it thru the lights i was bouncin on the slicks trying to stop and just stopping short of the retaing wall. Switched to Disc and was a happy camper but it added wieght to the car. Yes that place can be scary but its really set up for slower street cars, you know, like me? LOL

Last time I was there (months ago) they were building a new home development directly accross the street. I'm sure they are finished now and they are literally 100 yards from the strip.

I'd bet Perris won't be back ever. I cannot see them being able to run drags there with homes that close.

True,

I'm sure the roundy round is not going to popular with those houses eithier, but, i heard that if you bought a house there you had to sign a waiver stateing that fact and you have to live with it because it is state owned land.

Curious to see what happens...................
