Went to Mason Dixon dragway yesterday. There were two new Camaro's there, both running mid to low 13's, bone stock. It was a wash for me, but I did get some seat time. First pass, stall up to 3200....launch....car spins and literally does not move. I thought I broke the rear end on this pass so babied it down the track. Scott (2k05GT) and I jacked up the car and checked the lsd and it was fine.

Second pass, spun again launching at 2800. Third pass, spun again launching at 2600. Track prep was crap. As John (Boss281) said "every one was off by 3-4/10ths and the same mph". I should have waited and gone to MIR. At least the car runs 11's even in bad conditions though.

I did get some cool pics though (some good ones of Laura doing a burn out) as I was on a rear view burn out kick...

Despite the crappy times a great day to socialize at the track. Got busy though--everyone wanted a piece of that mineshaft air!

Thanks Todd for getting some good action shots! Especially of me torquing on John's wheels. Hmmmmm, wonder who does most of the work?

Definitely a great day for hanging at the track, but very frustrating at the same time. Welcome to drag racing, right? Oh yeah, and some great Famous Dave's grub..........after I got pulled over by the State Trooper.

Todd, I'll PM you my personal email address so you can shoot me those pictures, if you don't mind?

Thanks again!

Boss 281 that is one of the cleanest stangs I've ever seen, love it. And come to think of it, all of you guys in those pics have great taste, a level above most

Great pics...

Poor track prep is such a waste of time, and tear on equipment.

Track owners/operators should be drug out into the street and beat with a wet hose for being lazy...

Times like that, wish I'd bring a 1000$ auction beater, and launch and head straight for the tree... NOW... poor prep caused my 82 chevette to get loose and wipe out yo tree...

oops!

Glad you didn't get rid of them after all man, car stance is perfect with those. :thumb:

Yeah, just when I thought the money situation was bleakest, it all came together and I took them off the market. Everyone was marveling at how light the fronts were with skinnies.

Too bad you can't use them as a street wheel. I love the look too...

Thanks, I don't really think of my car as one with great looks. Couple years back I was at Fords at Carlisle for the Boss reunion, fell in love (again) with the '69 Boss 302, and did a tribute. Clean look and it won a lot of races...
