I'll be home around 4:15 if you're still there and I'll help you get it on the trailer. I also just shot my neighbor a text asking if he'll be around..if he is I'm sure he'll give you a hand. He's the guy that ran the orange fox yesterday.

I dont even know where to get one of those lol.

good deal... when are you planning on coming back down?

I should be there around 2:30 or 3pm. Paul said he might be able to help, but if not ill just wait for James to get home.

so goddamn close to a 9 sec run. I had the mph by al ot, and judging from similar mph in out et list, I could be running a mid to high 9 sec run. Shame the motor seized and the belt slipped through the entire run.

Was it belt slip, or was the car surging because of something else? Detonation, timing being pulled, etc etc? Was there any evidence of belt slip? Belt dust?

I hope hope its something simple and nothing too serious.

Hey John,

no detionation on the plugs. it was belt slip. had to be. was 110 octane, no timing being pulled. its a 2.5" upper, theres no belt wrap on a pulley that small. AFR was good, oil pressure was good.

That is good to know then. Crossing my fingers for ya! I did just have a friend that has a TVS on his GT500 that snapped the snout completely off the crank. He was running an IW balancer. I'd never seen one fail in that particular way before.

my balancer is still on there well, jsut cant turn the motor, even manually in either direction. Not to say the crank couldnt be cracked internally either. Nothing seems to explain the loss of coolant though

Have it towed 90 miles to the closet shop in that area. Have the car dropped off and call again to get it towed. Not honest, but AAA will probably not tell you no. Especially if you tell them the shop it was dropped off at can't fix it. I've seen it done many a times. Have been the tow truck driver on those calls lol. Hell I have even seen people sign up for AAA on their cell and get a tow right then and there. They don't care at all, and allow it. Good luck man, hope it helps a little.

He's already got the truck and trailer and is on his way down to where the car is.

Wow what a bummer about the car, hope it isn't anything major =/.. Good runs before hand though. Keep us posted.

My heart sunk when I read about this last night. One of my favorite cars on the forum. I hope whatever the issue is that it isn't a trashed engine. Sending positive waves your direction...

Hate to hear this happened to you being so close to the 9s, at least you have a few good friends helping you! You find out who your real friends are when you need help.
