cams are bolt on....remove covers , remove bolts, replace cams BOLT ON new cams....bolt on.

bolt on is usually something other than N/A that does not require any soft of special modifications or fabbing IMO, remove it from a cardboard box and bolt it on.

If that's how you guys see it ok but a cammed car is always going to be in a different class than a basic bolt-on car IMO. Heck I can do a cam swap in an ls1 in around 1 1/2 hours from start to finish and I still don't consider that a bolt-on for those cars.

they're just bolted on top of the motor...under the cam covers. it's a minor mod, nsr cams. i still consider it all bolt on.

i suppose you could consider gears "not a bolt on" too, since you have to go into the differential.

i was really just sort of joking around. i didn't really think about the cams, honestly. but i think in our case, it's such an easy swap for nsr cams, it really could be just considered a bolt on

I just don't consider anything that changes the long block a bolt-on. I'm not saying your times aren't good. And who said anything about gears? I'm still running stock 3.55's here. Besides even nsr's take longer to do than gears. I'm just going off of what I've gone off of for the last decade or so. Isn't the fastest "bolt-on" only car going 11.80's@114 without cams?

not making any claims about records or being fast or anything else. i'm just happy with how the car ran

even though i hadn't given it much thought, i still think nsr cams should be considered a bolt on. at least i'm not the only one who thinks that way.

i don't even bracket race. i just go out for test and tune fun, that's about it. i just enjoy doing a mod or two, going to the track and hopefully seeing some improvement in performance. if i do a head swap or something, then for sure i won't consider the car a "bolt on" car anymore.

if i ever start cutting some consistently quick reaction times, maybe i'll do a little bracket racing. for now friday night test and tune is fun enough

1) copy of timeslip--if you don't have it, unless you have video, forget it. If you only have video, please provide the 60', 1/8-mi and 1000' incrementals

timeslip.jpg

2) The following vehicle information:
- Cubic inch displacement (CID) of engine

281

- Type of transmission (by model number)

3550

- Size and Manufacturer of power adder, or N/A

Kenne Bell 2.6

- Pounds of Boost, of N2O shot (or both if applicable)

16psi

- Rear Gear ratio

4.10

- Make and type of tire

MT ET Street 26.5x17x11.50

3) your time also has to be backed up by another time within 2%.

I have done multiple 11.05-11.10 runs. Didn't keep the other time slips.

Wow that wind sucks. What happened on the 1-2 shift?

First time at the track with the new motor, just a little rusty. The cross end (blowing left to right) at the end of the track was around 30-40mph, not really fun, almost hit the center cones on an earlier run.
