Problem after cam install.

on topic.. just a thought.. have any of you looked past the cams? i.e. check the maf sensor, throttle body, any of that for carbon build up?

Yes. Did all of that. Checked every mechanical thing I could think of, all are good.

This is one reason I did not get a Brenspeed tune for my cams. When I called them, they were very dodgy and could not guarantee anything. They told me driveability was not guaranteed because cams are "just like that".

Well, I've been in talks with Lito over the last couple days and he sent me out a tune. The car drives perfectly now. Just how it should. Anyone having this problem, hit up Lito and he will have you fixed and running properly in no time.

I might be a fanboy, but after 10K hard miles on my new engine and it drives like stock in any condition be it 110 F or 10 F. I'm a firm beliver in thier work.

Sorry for you problems but I have seen countless posts in the last few months bad mouthing thier stuff and it has been no name forum tuners who think their shit don't stink.

Their shit stunk plenty for this guy. The shops are screaming busy, including Brenspeed, they better get their eye back on the quality ball. That "So Brenspeed keeps telling me that's just the characteristic of the cam" story will sink their rep fast.

Unfortunately that seems to happen with alot of businesses. They aren't as mom and pops type business when they reach that size. They would rather just keep selling more and more to offset the 1 business transaction that didn't go as it should. Lito seems to be the man. Although i have no idea what he chargers. I keep toying the idea around of getting a tune from him just because i know i will get good quality because its all him doing everything. Even being just a bolt on car i have it doesn't drive as it should am im annoyed right now. he seems more preoccupied with the FI type tunes that a simple bolt on car like I have. but as usual...he comes through again

That's funny cause I wrote him about the same issues and was told that for the bolt ons I had that I was probably good to go. I wonder what was so different that he looked at yours and did a tune.

I just got a tune from Lito and it is amazing! Completely turned my car around 180 from the Bama tune I was using! I tried contacting Bama and sent logs and never heard back from them. Lito on the other hand contacted me after seeing this post I made and fixed me up! No more surging at low speeds, no flat spots, just straight power no matter what gear or RPM I'm running in! Thanks brother, once again I apologize to Manuel for making it sound like he wasn't trying to help on the above post that wasn't my intent but I think it came across that way to people who may have read it.

And i wouldnt sell so short on bbr. I think they hit a bump and starting to work things out to making it right. Im not a fan boy by any means. But they have always taken the time to listem when i have problems with my tune. Now brenspeed. I just cant deal with them. Ive never talked to a tooner and felt sobe littled as i did with them.

Sorry to hear on what happened but glad to see you had it fixed. Just for insight though, we did have a issue with our Stage 1 cams. Their was 5 bad sets that had a grind error which they were quickly fixed. Everyone I have spoke with when it happened was very nice and I thank you for that. Since then, we have sold many sets and it seems that everything is back to normal. If their are any and I mean any questions or concerns about our Stage 1 cams, please contact us and anyone one of us will help.

On another note, Comp cuts the Hot Rods and most other shops cams.

His rates vary depending on what you have done to your car or what you need tune wise. The comment in regards to a bolt on car was in reference to my car specifically and the tune I already had. In my opinion I think he thought I was searching for more power initially, just a communication error on my part.

I couldn't be happier with the service he has provided and the response time on the tunes and questions I had. I truly wish more companies had this kind of customer service and work ethic!

i just wanna take a minute to note a couple things. Early on i had some issues with my cams but aftere i notified BBR they got right to work on making it right. BBR wasnt the one who messed up, it was comp. BBR was right there to see things through though and make sure all was corrected. I was upset with comp and there lack of quality control but i guess that stuff happens evidently. i just wanted to note that i had no hard feelings towards BBR even though i know there are some who do. Steve is the only guy i have dealt with and he has always been quick to help me out in any way he could. i just wanted to throw this in here, now back on topic...

By perfect storm do they mean more mods on the car than they know how do deal with and they can no longer just take 5 minutes to throw some sct preloaded files together, up the idle rpm and make the car run ok? Well then yes I agree what a perfect storm!
