For those guys with failing prothanes -- did you notice they went bad because of some ill affect you could feel? Or did you only notice because you inspected them/read this thread & went out to look at them?

The later, my point exactly, even with a bushing bulging and a couple mm gap the prothanes are still going to allow less movement and be stronger than a stock mount.

This seems to be just a whole lota mess about nothin.

I only checked because of this thread.. I don't feel any ill effects but have two bulging mounts. So I put a hose clamp around each to hopefully stop the cold flowing. It seems to have tightened them up a little, but that might be butt dynoing.

Heres one for ya...I was under the car today installing the Che K member brace and torque limiters. Figured I would also check on my motor mounts after having read this thread. This is what I found...

So far I have to hand it to the guys at Prothane. They called yesterday after receiving the pics I posted and are send out replacement urethane for both sides, bottom plate and bolt. No hassle!

lately i am seeing more and more threads on aftermarket parts failing so much. makes me think stock mounts are fine for my bolt on application

Yes they are.

Stock mounts here, no NVH, car shifts just fine, WOT or not and I flog my car hard in more than one direction.

I just have no idea why people stick up for parts companies that sell rubbish.

So they sent new bushings, so what? The exact same thing will happen next year.

I'm interested to see if mine are bulging, but honestly I won't replace 'em. I'm with Lightblade on this.

I'll do the hose clamp trick if needed. If there is a significant gap on the bottom, I'll go buy 2 steel washers and remove the gap.

With my headers, I can't run the factory motor mounts. So no matter what, these stay. That, and the way the car feels...it's just more solid feeling

Just to add a little more to this old thread...after Prothane sent me the new set of bushings they failed again. The upper bushing "smushed" leaving a gap between the lower bushing and the mounting plate which doesn't adequately control the motor. Quick letter with some pics to Prothane and four new bushings showed up on my door step again. Gotta love it when a company stands behind their product!!?

I'd prefer to have a company that produces a quality product that doesn't need to be replaced after failing to do what it was designed to do

True...let me know when you find a product with a 0% failure rate. Having dealt with some companies that dodge, weave, lie and manipulate forums (not just this one but F-150 forums) to have threads closed, delete postings and ban members, I will take a company that stands behind their product no questions asked.

I'm glad to hear Prothane has changed their ways and addressed the problem with you -they didn't take care of me. BTW, my Lethal ones are holding up great.
