Pype bombs hanger rattle... Fix?

My Pype bombs passenger hanger is a few mm away from touching metal. On cold start it starts to rattle, moving closer and closer to contact. Once it heats up enough it contacts the metal, pushes on it, then stops.

I thought to use some type of flexible rubbery hose. Cut a slit and put it around the hanger. I do not want to re install the exhaust. The hangers never really feel that hot after I drive so I'm guessing my initial thoughts on looking for heat resistant material doesn't matter so much. I tried to find heat resistant hose that would be flexible enough to cut a slit and push over, I didn't have much success at Home Depot and Ace. Can't really wrap electrical tape since there's no room.

Has anyone experienced this? What type of hose should I use? Or what else could be done besides doing any major work, torching, bending, remounting. I'm limited on tools and don't have a garage.

Do you think water heater hose will work? Would I be able to cut a slit in it with an blade or scissors?

Your hangers aren't rubber mounted? Mine are.

Yeah the mount on the car has a rubber insulator in it. The wire coming off the exhaust is hitting, I think, the side of the hanger mount. Can't remember exactly. I'll get some pics while I'm working on my car today.

Have you tried rotating the center part of the exhaust (section that goes from trans to over the rear axels) until it sits higher over the panhard bracket? i had to rotate mine slightly cause my center section was ratting over the panhard bracket.

I think I figured it out. Basically the exhaust needs to be pushed up further toward the front of the car. I swear when they installed it they pushed it up as far as it could go. I guess when I get my o/r pipe installed I'll see if they can adjust the whole thing from up top to give me another quarter inch. The pipes do stick out a little past the bumper which I don't really like. This would fix both issues I guess

If it was me I would just take the offending side off and cut the hanger shorter. Would probably take less than an hour to do and you don't even have to raise the car off the ground.

I've had to cut off the rear hangers on a couple of the axle backs I've had on my car...they always seem to be way too long.

I got some of this from Home Depot and wrapped both hangers on my driver side. They were rattling on the metal part of the hangar mount on the car. I have roush ab's and like you said it needs to move forward but I think it's maxed out, as I tried with no success. This was only an issue after my lethal o/r h install. It's supposed to be good up to 500 degrees and self fusing.

You should be able to get rid of the rattle by adjusting the exhaust. But if you can't, heat and bend the hanger. There is a lot of play in the exhaust if you loosen it up all the way up to the headers. Mine is rattling since my last mid pipe change but I always try and get the tips to stick out too far so i know how to solve it, just haven't gotten under there to do it.

Yeah when I get my o/r x pipe installed I'll have them push the axle back about 1/4 inch further towards the front. They do stick out jus a bit too much IMO but when I got the axle back installed I liked it like that. Now I don't anymore.
